My involvement in the Belgian Shepherd began in 1981 and has grown. We now own & breed all 4 varieties (Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois and Tervueren) with carefully planned litters sometimes available. Dogs bred by us are Multi Specialty BISS/BOB winners, All Breed Group and In Show winners. Our Belgians also work or compete in Obedience, Rally-O, Tracking, Herding, Lure Coursing, IPO, Mondo Ring, IGP as well as fully fledged working dogs and family companions. We have imported Terv, Groen, Mal and Laek from Belgium, USA, Portugal, Hungary and Italy. We own dogs in Greece, United Kingdom, Holland, Mexico and America. Breeding Laekenois for future generations to admire and respect. Breeding for health, beauty, intelligence and performance. The Laekenois is a beautiful breed.. they are extremely smart, agile and willing to please. This particular variety does nothing by halves, they are intense and require an experienced handler. The Laekenois will be loyal, loving and protective of its family. This variety of the Belgian Shepherd is not for the faint hearted, they will teach you how to be a better dog trainer and handler. They will love you with their whole being. They are an amazing dog. They are also very rare, with less than 230 born in Australia over the past 28 years. We are planning a litter mid to late 2022.. All breeding dogs are DNA profiled, hip/elbow scored and eye tested, results are available on request by interested puppy buyers.

Belgian Shepherds can excel in any field you choose- Obedience, Rally Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Endurance, Lure Coursing, Herding, Weightpull or Dryland Sledding. Our adult Belgian Shepherds train and compete in some of the above disciplines, and they also participate in conformation shows. We believe they should be 'fit for purpose' - which means instinctive herding ability, coupled with fitness and intelligence, to willingly perform any task required. Belgian Shepherds are a very affectionate breed, and have an immense desire to please, creating extremely loyal and devoted companions. Puppies have had a vaccination, are registered with Dogs NSW, microchipped and come with an extensive puppy pack, training information, 2 months free pet insurance and lifetime support. All of my Lappies of breeding age are DNA tested and have hip and elbow scores as well as eye testing done before breeding, a copy of this comes with your puppy pack. Theldaroy is a foundation lapphund breeder in Australia. We have been breeding them since 2001 and at present have the rare litters. I have not had a litter for some years and usually only a couple per annum. We believe that quality is of paramount importance. I have done an insemination with Aarre to Moska. I am truly excited with this planned litter. I will be expecting black and tan pups. Due mid Feb to go to ne home around Easter. Deerlane Finnish Lapphunds is expecting our “Critter Litter” of little Love-Bugs due February 2025. Parents-to-be are Ariana (Tundrai Bear To Bee Sweet JC) & Kailo (American Grand Ch Alnopa Ukonvasara IMP USA). Parents are health tested for breed relevant diseases (DNA, CHEDS Hip & Elbow scored, ACES eye cleared, cardiologist cleared). Colours expected are Wolf Sable & Brown Wolf Sable only. Price approx $4000. We are open to pet, sports & show/breeding homes. Ariana is an affectionate girl who excels in sports/herding. Kailo is a stunning dog imported from Norway (via the USA). He’s a big cuddle bug, has moderate drive & a “look at me” personality. Both are food driven & social with people/dogs/cats. Whilst Lapphunds may look like teddy-bears, it’s important to remember they’re a working breed. From this combination I expect friendly, cuddly puppies with a natural herding instinct, intelligence, moderate drive & good trainability. Here at Deerlane our dogs are first and foremost family. They are raised and live in my home (on my couch). Puppies aren’t available often as I only breed when I have the time & resources to give them the best possible start at life. We do not have staff or the resources to hold “open days” like a commercial kennel as this is my home, but do encourage those looking for a puppy to meet us & get to know our dogs.
