We are situated on the far north coast of NSW near Ballina, and we have been breeding top quality miniature smooth dachshunds for almost 40 years. Our dogs are well known for their good temperament and breed type, we concentrate on good health and our dogs are tested clear for known genetic faults. ey"Splendak" - we are proud to have the name "Splendak" as our prefix, as we have a small family of little miniature smooth and miniature long dachshunds who have been bred from well-renowned Champion bloodlines with sound temperaments and excellence in conformation. The Foundation lines of Splendak are based on lines with solid temperaments. Our little family of girls are all PRA Cord 1 Clear by Parentage. We do not kennel our dachshunds, and they live as part of the family in our home. We breed top quality dogs with exceptional temperaments, all DNA Tested for Cord 1 PRA & SDMD. Our oldest living dogs have lived till 17 & 15 years especially the two girls from our very first litter of 3 puppies. We pride ourselves on our puppies and adult dogs wonderful outgoing temperaments. I believe because I allowed new puppy buyers to come and see their babies right from 2 weeks of age. They are cuddled and touched and I believe is why they are so accepting of any humans and other dogs that cross their paths. I never advertise as my pups are sold before they are even born. breeders. We are very grateful to Darryl and Joan Cross of Dakley Dachshunds in Queensland for sending us "Maggie", our first mini smooth. I know it was a difficult decision for them trying to sort the 4 sisters out as they were all so even. We cannot thank them enough for our little packet of dynamite, who has won a Best of Breed at the Royal Adelaide Show and several classes in group awards before retiring to the recliner chair and watching DVD's. Although, we only commenced showing and breeding this beautiful breed 14 years ago, Dachshunds have been a part of our life for many years prior to this. During this time, we have titled more than 12 dogs and produced 8 home-bred Australian Champions. Our focus is to breed for both good conformation & temperament as we believe that these have to go hand-in-hand to produce sound and well-adjusted puppies. We breed to continue our lines and want to produce dogs that meet the Dachshund Breed Standard. While our dogs go into the show ring, first and foremost they are our pets and are part of our family. We ask interested new families to complete our Potential Puppy Buyer’s Questionnaire as this helps us to match puppies to their new families. Each puppy and family are individual in their situation and needs. We provide lots of photos, videos and Face-time to keep new families updated on the puppies’ progress. Wherever possible we encourage our puppy families to meet the parents of their puppy. Our adult dogs have genetic and back-scoring testing undertaken and we provide copies of these reports. As well, all our puppies are genetically parentage tested so you are assured by their registered pedigree that they are pure-bred miniature dachshunds from the stated dam and sire.
