As the first registered Kennel of Perro De Agua Espanol (Spanish Water Dog) in Australia, we are committed to breeding and importing Dogs of correct Spanish type. The Spanish Water Dog breed dates back several hundred years and has its origins most likely in Turkey from where it was imported into Spain as a general purpose sheepdog and guard. It is also used sometimes as a gundog, and is skilled at retrieval from water. The SWD has strong genetic links to other ancient water breeds such as the Portuguese Water Dog, the French Barbet and the Irish Water Spaniel. The SWD is diligent, loyal, affectionate, and intelligent. They have very strong natural herding and guarding instincts, leading them to become the self-appointed guardians of their homes. SWDs thrive on work and play. Their athleticism and extremely hard working nature leads them to excel at any number of tasks. They can be wary with strangers, early and continuing socialization with a variety of people and other animals is essential for a well-adjusted, social dog.Good socialization at an early age greatly helps them cohabit with small children. So its important before bringing an SWD into your home you get to know the breed, meeting the parents and seeing how they interact in their own home. Our foundation imports have arrived from Spain and Breeders with Spanish Bloodlines. All of our dogs are Health tested. We welcome all inquiries about the breed and welcome any prospective new owners into our home.

DogzOnline Advertisement Pups were born on 6 September, will have vet visit at 6 weeks for health checkup, first vaccination, microchipping, & a fit to fly certificate; being necessary for pup to fly. After which, pup will be available for collection, delivery or flight. Pups will not be allowed to depart our home until after they are 10 weeks of age. During this time if you are located reasonably close, visits can be organised, but if not, you will receive regular photos, videos & updates. I require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 to secure & hold your chosen pup. On receiving vet all clear after first vaccination the remaining amount is to be paid within 3 weeks as to have full payment 1 week prior to leaving & second C3 vaccination. Once deposit has been paid you are welcome & encouraged to to name your pup. I will treat puppy with Drontol fortnightly for worms & with Frontline weekly for ticks & fleas from 2 weeks of age. They come fully weaned; eating wet & dry solids with a small puppy pack to help them settle. I will start toilet training on fake & real grass & would have started basic puppy training with walking on a lead, ‘come’ and ‘sit’. Full breed profiles and DNA clarification have been completed on parents by Orivet and they are clear of all current know dachshund diseases. Pups and parents are available viewing in public location.

We are currently looking at downsizing our show and breeding numbers and are making available some of our older Water Dogs. We are looking for homes who have experience with the breed or have spent time researching and understanding that a Spanish Water Dog is a little different to most other dogs.
