The Rabbit (“kaninchen”) sized dachshund is newly recognised by the ANKC, the smallest variety of dachshund in the FCI show rings.

Whilst they are small (chest <32cm for boys, <30cm for girls), they are dachshunds - hunters, diggers, with big attitudes and will. Rabbit dachshunds must contain adequate muscle and strength to sprint after prey, dig into holes, and catch their prey. It’s much more than just producing small dachshunds. How they are structured to is paramount to their health.

Our lines are imported from Japan and in 2023 from Europe. I cannot thank enough the beautiful specialist rabbit breeders abroad who have supported and mentored me in this new breed endeavour, and we hope to do you proud in Australia.
We hope to breed a combination of these beautiful lines to produce healthy, conformationally correct offspring.

As a show breeder, we will be taking to the ring in late 2022 to begin titling in the conformation ring.

We will not have any litters until AT THE EARLIEST mid 2023.

Our adults are health tested, including DNA testing for PRA, and X-ray back and hip scored (looking at the potential inherited risk of IVDD and hip dysplasia), and tested for patella subluxation.

Whitefrost is expecting puppies! Nukka x Gromit Due: Sept 30th Ready for pick up: Late November

Nukka (Theldaroy zero in on me) is our affectionate, intelligent and friendly wolfsable girl. With a successful showing career to date, she has been awarded Australian Champion and the highest grade of 'Excellent'. Nukka loves being a part of the family from hiking and camping to cuddling on the couch.

Gromit (Deerlane Light The Fuse Gromit) is an active wolfsable boy who is keen to join his family on any adventure or new activity. He participates in agility, sprint dog trials and conformation. He is quick to pick up new tricks and commands, especially when there's treats involved. When he is not hanging out with his doggy pals he loveees to snuggle with his humans, particularly if there's tummy rubs on offer!

Both parents have had all the recommended breed testing & full embark testing (you can learn more about them on our website!).

Possible colours for this litter: Wolfsable, Cream and Black and Tan.
We are expecting friendly, intelligent puppies that will have a range of low - medium drive. We may have availability for one or two puppies depending on genders born, with show and sports homes looked upon favourably. With the divine temperaments of both parents, we also expect puppies suitable for life as family pets. Both parents are gentle with children and other dogs.

We expect a beautiful, typey litter of black and tans. Both parents have been proven in the show ring & have performance qualifications behind them. We expect drivey puppies with a good work ethic, however both parents have an “off” switch and when they’re not working are both massive cuddle bugs.
