At Tirowen we are one of the pioneers in the breed in Australia, having been committed to this special breed for almost fifty years now. Our first Irish Wolfhound was Ch Erindale Fortuna (imp UK) who came to us late in 1972 and since then we have continued to build the breed, importing dogs and semen from leading bloodlines in Europe, the United Kingdom and America.

Our hounds are first and foremost our companions, bred to be family dogs. We breed for temperament, health, longevity and type. The fruits of our efforts can be seen in many homes here and abroad - but also in the showring where we have an illustrious history. Tirowen owned and/or bred Irish Wolfhounds have achieved the ultimate accolade in the showring winning 37 Best in Shows at Specialties in Australia.

Anne and Francis are both International dog judges and have judged the breed in Europe, the United States, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand at Specialty level.

With over 50 years involvement with the breed in England and Australia I am always happy to help with advice, if I am able. Puppies are only available very occasionally from bloodlines encompassing the best of Australia, America and Europe.

I encourage anyone purchasing a puppy to ask to view the puppy's liver shunt testing report and the following health results of the parents,
Heart screening
Hip scores
Elbow scores.
If possible always visit the breeder and meet the dam of the litter.

CREENA -
We are a small kennel situated in the Adelaide Hills, concentrating on quality rather than quantity. Health and temperament are equally important to us , prior to breeding any of our hounds, they undergo breed screening heart checks from a veterinary specialist cardiologist and are x-rayed for both hip and elbow dysplasia with official scores publicly available on the Irish Wolfhound Database.
Our imported bitch, Grand Champion Fleetwood Maureen At Creena is the first Irish wolfhound import to gain the title of Grand Champion, an accomplishment we are immensely proud of and her offspring are winning well in Australia , New Zealand and the UK
All the hounds keep extremely fit running on our acreage and some, due to their calm, steady temperament, have been used as service dogs, visiting elderly hospital patients. They are also very devoted to the youngest members of our family; all puppies are given the opportunity to interact with young children whilst being raised at Creena

All dogs bred by us have full complete pedigrees with full registered names in every generation

My focus for breeding is for health, temperament and breed type, by utilizing both Australian and imported lines. Heart and Hip and Elbow testing are standard practice.

Cufiain Irish Wolfounds have gained titles in Australia and USA.

We’re thrilled to announce we have a confirmed litter, expected to whelp around mid-October 2024. This will be our last litter until at least 2026.

At Whimsily, our aims are to breed for health, temperament and to preserve the beautiful English Setter breed. Our dogs are thoroughly health tested, including hip scores, DNA testing and BAER testing.

Our puppies are raised with Puppy Culture to help them reach their full potential as balanced, resilient future dogs. They’ve been exposed to baths, blow drying, clippers and regular nail trims to set them up for grooming in the future.

Whimsily puppies come home with:

- Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) Pedigree
- Microchipped
- Wormed
- Their first two vaccinations
- BAER (hearing) tested
- Lifetime support from us!
- A puppy pack with food, grooming tools and an information booklet.

Puppies come registered with Dogs Victoria on the limited registry, which means they cannot be bred from or shown. Owners are required to sign a contract that any puppy on the limited registry will not be bred from. When show-quality puppies are available, expressions of interest will be taken from genuine show people interested in exhibiting.

We are expecting a litter in October from our gorgeous Sarah Jayne (Australian Champion Orwin Sarah Jayne)
All our babies are raised in our lounge amongst all the normal household noises and activity. All our dogs are part of our family and are not kept in kennels.
All breeding dogs are hip and elbow xrayed, Baer tested (hearing) DNA tested and all breeding dogs are clear of NCL (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 8) and rcd4-PRA (late onset)
