Breeding and exhibiting Afghan Hounds since the early 1970's. From an extremely limited breeding program we have produced more than 40 champions in many countries, including an International Champion.

We started in the breed in the 1980's with a rescue Afghan and after that life has never been the same. We are currently showing some young imported stock. Our emphasis is on correct dogs without exaggeration, where function is the number one priority. We also lure course our dogs.

Suliman kennels is located in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, owned and bred by Kerin, Kerry & Rachel Hutchings. We have been involved with afghan hounds since 1973, and have since succeeded in selectively breeding afghans which have sound temperament, elegance & substance. We have enjoyed much success over the last 3 decades of showing, and in recent years have bred, owned and handled Australia’s #1 Afghan Hound for 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. Through hard work and dedication to the breed, we have accomplished more than 100 Best in Shows and 50 reserve Best in Shows, consistently winning at some of Australia’s most prestigious all breed shows. However, our success has not just been for us here in Australia, but also to those around the globe, having bred many champions and best in show winners in over 8 different countries. We at Suliman welcome all newcomers to the breed, as well as those who have had and shared the love for Afghan Hounds for many years. We occasionally have puppies available and pride ourselves on providing lifetime support and guidance to all those who purchase a Suliman puppy, whether that be as a loving member of your pet or show home family. Established in 1963, at least 252 conformation championships have been awarded to Calahorra bred Afghan Hounds to date world wide. Breeders of Best in Show at Sydney Royal 3 times, Brisbane Royal twice, Sydney Royal Puppy in Show twice & Opposite Puppy in Show, Puppy in Show Brisbane Royal. Exports in 24 countries. Impeccably bred & conscientiously reared puppies from our unique mix of world famous bloodlines sometimes available. Our puppies usually cost $5500, they are of classic type and outstanding quality, with totally sane and outgoing temperaments, are absolutely sound in conformation and from generations of healthy parents. Full register Dogs NSW, Nobivac C3 vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, they are born in the house before moving outside & then to grassed pens as they mature, they are handled several times every day & are thoroughly socialised. Feeding and maintenance chart provided, plus a great deal more useful information & lifetime support. Six weeks' free insurance. Puppies receive a Royal Canin Puppy Pack and a delivered bag of food, plus two 30% discount vouchers.
