Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 4 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills. Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only. Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential! Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;) We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and Dogs West. Breeders of the amazing Rhodesian Ridgeback, JAHARI kennels is a DOGSNZ breeder. We are home to many Australian bred and home owned Rhodesians. Located in Katikati in the North Island of New Zealand, JAHARI is a small family run kennels based on our lifestyle block. We have many grandies whom play a large roll in our puppies upbringing. Our dogs and puppies are also brought up along side other breeds as our extended family are also dog lovers. Working with top breeders in Aus JAHARI make high quality selections to enhance our breeding and show program. Our goal is to to raise well rounded Rhodesian Ridgeback with both good temperaments but also dogs who fit the breed standard. A royal Canine puppy pack which he/she has been weaned on to 3 feeds a day, and all babies will have had their microchip for registration at your local council. We currently have two litters of standard Poodle puppies one born August 2024 and the other born September 2024. There are three available to pet homes from the first litter and four available from the younger litter. They will be sold with desexing contracts and DogsNZ pedigrees endorsed 'Not to be bred'. A show or dog sport potential puppy may be available to the right home by negotiation. One brown boy, one blue girl and a cream girl from the first litter are available and two white boys and a white girl are available to approved homes from the second litter. Puppies, parents and our home and puppy raising environment are available to be seen by arrangement. We offer lifetime support for our puppy buyers and will take back any dog we have bred who can no longer stay with their family if their circumstances unexpectedly change. We raise puppies with current knowledge of best practice to promote positive developmental milestones. We raise our puppies with Puppy Culture and Early Neurological Stimulation. We work on puppy manners, crate training, potty training, weekly grooming and assess their temperament to help match puppies with their homes at 9 weeks. As poodle owners for over 30 years we wish to see the best of the breed maintained by breeding healthy, strong dogs with great temperament. Our dogs are DNA tested, health checked and hip scored with excelled results. They live with us in our home, are obedience trained. As a Psychologist I work with our Therapy dogs in the mental health field, the puppies are also given exposure to a number of environments including hospitals.
