Merinschnauz is based near Warwick in South East Qld, our pups are raised in our home and our dogs live normal family pet lives and enjoy various outings.
Our ethics are centered on having respect and responsibility for all the animals that we breed, we choose to bring them into this world and we are responsible for making sure they will have the best possible life.
To ensure we are breeding the healthiest possible Miniature Schnauzers we use genetic testing, researching our dogs ancestral history and we do not support inbreeding practices. Our goal is to increase genetic diversity and general long term heath of the dogs we breed.
We are committed to ongoing training and learning about our dogs health, behaviours and nutritional requirements - we make decisions for them, they need to be good ones.
We work very hard in the eight plus weeks that the puppies are with us, socializing with other dogs and people, toilet and crate training as well as general manners with humans and their litter mates.
Potential families must be prepared to have phone or face to face conversations with us and build a strong relationship around communication, we will not respond to messages or texts.
We offer extensive support to our puppy families both at hand-over and after the puppy goes home, particularly around training and nutrition.
If at an any time in that puppies life the family are unable to keep their pup, it can be returned to us.

We have owned Schnauzers since 1992 starting with a miniature schnauzer. We then obtained our first standard schnauzer in 1993. Our dogs have always been family pets and participated in obedience training as well as showing.
We have always had a very keen interest in the breed. Now our family has grown up, giving us time to concentrate on showing and to start our breeding program. Our foundation dogs are from imported European lines, all have wonderful temperaments as do their parents.
Our aim is to breed quality Schnauzers following the European lines with good temperaments & soundness being a priority.

We are located in Julatten North Queensland on the northern end of the Tablelands. We are close to Mareeba, Atherton, Cairns, Port Douglas, Mossman and Daintree.

We breed from unrelated Australian and International Champion bloodlines in an attempt to increase genetic strength and diversity.

Our Miniature Schnauzers share our farm with us and our 4 children, cows, cats, horses and pedigree British Bulldogs & Neapolitan Mastiffs.
All our dogs are a friendly pack and behave respectfully to other dogs and people. All our puppies are house reared and are very confident and well socialised.

We show these beautiful dogs and try to improve on our dogs by only using the best quality males to our girls by DNA testing and eye testing prior to mating where only parents with great results will be considered. We have had great results in the show ring with our girls and one of our home bred boys in another kennel. We have qualified one of our girls for puppy of the year 2018. They make wonderful family companions and are great with children.

We are expecting a litter of beautiful Miniature Schnauzer puppies late in July, that should be ready to go to their new homes in early October. Both parents are pepper & salt, this cross has already produced an Australian Champion. Mains & Limited register will be available depending on puppies. We are now taking expressions of interest.
