Quality Improvement is the key to any well run business and breeding excellent dogs is no exception. Breeders of the 1st Australian Bred VN American Grand Champion Established in 1989 the Newfashion prefix is held in high regard. We have continued to strive towards a best practice approach which has seen our breeding program go from strength to strength. Our dogs are recognised locally and overseas as being fine examples of the breed and our stud males have been used extensively to reproduce true breed type in Australia, New Zealand, Italy and the USA. Puppies are bred from imported lines which we have personally selected to compliment our breeding program, they are raised in a family environment with all effort being made to ensure that carry optimal health status. In order to enhance our breeding program over the years, we have imported a number of dogs from various kennels around the world as well as importing semen from some of the best males in the breed. Whilst we enjoy showing our dogs this is not our main focus, family and work commitments often prevent us from attending some events, however, we certainly make our presence felt when in attendance. please note we do not keep puppy wait lists and we do not advertise litters, all enquiries should be made via phone call or email. Capebass has been established for many years, but we have owned Newfoundlands since 1975.Capebass strives to breed quality, sound Newfoundlands. To improve our lines we have imported semen and dogs from overseas countries such as Hungry, USA and England. We are committed to breeding quality Newfoundlands, by using such lines as to assist our own. Out of the litters I've bred I've produced a best in show winner who also won the group at Adelaide Royal, I have also owned a bitch that won best opposite sex at our Newfoundland Championship show, twice. Her daughter went on to win a best in show at our breed open show, Bitch challenge at Melbourne royal and now her pups have gone on to win in group and in show awards all three of which were titled at a young age. We are home to 1 Home bred Grand Champion Jack- GR CH, Capebass Wish upon Astar and we have successfully successfully shown our Polish import Cezar - GR CH Cezar Cancrimo to his Grand champion title We are also proud to be the breeders of the first International champion (FCI) in Australia. After falling in love with the breed, we undertook immense research to preserve the breed standard. We hope to contribute to the gene pool in Australia by introducing new lines from Europe. Our focus is producing puppies for showing & pet homes, as we strive for overall soundness alongside health, temperament, and type. While we are a small kennel based in Melbourne, we do not breed often. However, when we do have a litter, we raise our puppies in our family home using the puppy culture method over a 9-week period. This ensures our puppies head off to their new homes well rounded and confident. We enter our dogs in conformation showing & have been fortunate to gain 2 x Australian Champion titles.
