A small boutique kennel run by a veterinarian who has worked with all breeds over many years and amongst them all has fallen in love with whippets. Aiming for soundness and calm temperament as well as beautiful whippet type, I plan to breed the occasional and exceptional litter.
Esilap Kennels {est 1955} have been breeding quality pedigree dogs for the show ring, and loving pets for over 60 yrs with many Champions to our credit.
First with Labradors, Esilap Shady Lady in 1956 was our first champion and now with Whippets with Esilap Elektra being the first black whippet bitch to get her title in Victoria in nearly 50 yrs, at only 14 mths of age.
Our small kennel is committed to breeding for quality not quantity. Having bred working labradors and flat coated retrievers over many years, our focus now includes showing and breeding our much loved whippets.
Our whippets are a blend of English, Australian and American bloodlines and we have enjoyed some wonderful success with them, under both All Breeds and Specialty judges. We look forward to a bright future.

Gold Country is located in Country Victoria. Our dogs are raised in a tranquil country setting and are very much a part of our family, they are involved in everything we do such as bush walking, motor bike riding, swimming in the dams. Jedda has participated in Lure Coursing however not at a competitive level.
Our breeding program pays particular attention to temperament, soundness and health. All puppies are vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped prior to joining their new family. Our puppies are sold with Pedigree Papers & new owners are supplied with individual puppy packs including diet information, worming regime and some do's and don'ts about owning a Whippet. Our advice & support is always available 24/7.
All pictures that are used at Gold Country are of our own dogs that we own or have previously bred.
we do not use other breeders' pictures as some breeders do.
