Grantulla is the first and only Sloughi breeder in Australia. We are proud to say from a litter of 13 an amazing achievement was made with 9 Conformation Champions, 8 Junior Courser titles and 2 Field Champions with more on the path to Field Champion. This litter has numerous Class in Group wins with also a handful of Group and Runner Up in Group awards. What a fantastic achievement for this rare breed. We Congratulate all our Sloughi owners for showcasing this wonderful breed. The Sloughi pronounced (SLOO-ghee), is one of the oldest known dog breeds. Dogs of this type are depicted on Egyptian wall reliefs more than three thousand years old. The Sloughi is traditionally a hunting dog of the nomadic tribes of North Africa, the Berbers and the Bedouins. Sloughis bred to hunt game in North Africa were accompanied by trained falcons, sat in the saddle in front of the riders and were taken on the hunt. The Sloughis countries of origin include Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya.
