We have only had this breed since 2014, a bitch from the Snowstars kennel, however have been successfully showing and breeding Pomeranians and Standard Poodles in excess of 30 years. In 2015 we imported our male, Taiyou, from the famous Kagiyasou kennel in Japan bred by Mr Mori. We purchased a bitch in 2016 with the type of Japanese lines we would like to continue. We acquired a stud puppy in 2017, having kept a bitch from our own prefix in 2016. We have titled all 7 of our showdogs to their Champion status. In 2019 we were fortunate to source a UK bred male from Japanese lines from Rakurai kennels. Taiyou our Japanese dog has achieved his Supreme title winning 2 x Best in Show and 2 x Runner up Best in Show. He was top Shiba Inu Australia 2018 (Dogzonline) Taiyou won Best of Breed at Brisbane Royal 2016 Chie Ejima - Japan and in 2017 as well as Best of Breed Sept 2016 under specialist Mr Satoshi Besho (Japan) July 2018. Now campaigning a grandaughter of his. Taiyou is available at stud to approved bitches with conditions. Kaikatsu new owners are carefully selected. Here at Okiniiri, we aim to breed for quality, soundness, health and temperament. All our Shibas are tested for hip and elbow, patella and eyes (gonioscopy). Only one beautiful little lady left. Nicknamed 'Buttercup' by my daughters, she has the most beautiful, thick, luscious coat, and the cutest, curly tail ever! She is a chunky little monkey too, and so incredibly placid - nothing fazes sweet little Buttercup! Whilst her sisters thought their first hydrobath on Sunday was horrendous, Buttercup took it all in her normal cruisy style. She just kicked back and lay down for the whole experience! Not a worry in the world. She is literally amazing! We can't wait to see how she looks when her ears finally prick up - we bet she'll be absolutely stunning! Due to have her second vaccination with her sisters on Friday (at 10 weeks of age), Buttercup is ready to be welcomed into her new family any time from this weekend onwards. We raise happy, healthy, confident, affectionate Shibees in our family home. As a result, Buttercup can already use a doggie door and is nearly fully house-trained. She loves attention and confidently greets all visitors. She has been socialised (with her Shiba family and two toy poodles) and is interested in our cat, but not overly stimulatd by her.
