I have been breeding dogs for over 20 years. Our puppies are all raised inside with lots of loving care and handled constantly. Puppies are all well socialised around adult dogs and children. We spend a lot of time with our puppies making sure they are ready to go to their new families.
Unfortunately we will not be having any pups for sale this year.
I breed selectively for the show ring, but not every puppy born will be good enough for that. My puppies have excellent temperaments, and while they sleep inside at night, spend all day outside in a half acre paddock running in a pack. This ensures they are healthy, strong and know how to get along with other Beagles. My goal has always been to breed Beagles that are true to the breed standard.
All my breeding stock are DNA tested for the full range of genetic problems that Beagles may be affected by, including Lafora Epilepsy, Factor 7, IGS, NCCD, CRD, PKD and MLS.

Lukara Beagles is a small scale kennel in the Lockyer Valley who offer beautiful beagles with great temperaments and full health testing for all puppies.
We have owned beagles for over 20 years and have been showing for over 10 years now. We started our journey with our first Australian Champion Culorgair ForLukara, and we now have a further five Australian Champions in the confirmation titles and one with a lure coursing title. We would like to thank our mentors who have given us the opportunity to continue their lines.
We love our beagles and pride ourselves on our wonderful temperaments, great health testing genetics and socialisations.
I have had and shown Beagles for 12 years. My prefix "Teviotdale" was an easy choice for me as my parents loved this area in the Border Country in Scotland.
I did have a Beagle when I lived in the U.K. and brought him to Australia when I came over in 1985. Jodie was a very special dog and was very much loved. He died at the age of 15 1/2.
My first Australian Beagle I bought and still have is Kate and her pedigree name is (Ch) Jansline Crystal Diamond. I have to say a big thank you to Sue and Steve for my very special girl. Kate was the start of my breed line and her progeny have done her proud. My Beagles are very much family house dogs. My main aim has always been to breed dogs of sound temperament to enable others to enjoy the pleasure of owning one of these special hounds.
