Skyefall Kennels is proud to welcome the new breed Miniature American Shepherd (MAS) to Australia! We worked closely with our parent breed club in the United States, MASCUSA to be instrumental in the recognition of the breed in Australia. We are one of the first breeders of MAS in Australia and look forward to sharing this wonderful breed downunder.

We add the Miniature American Shepherd under our already successful prefix ‘Skyefall’, following the same key principles of breeding with integrity and for the betterment and development of the breed.
Temperament, type, movement and health will always be at the forefront of our breeding decisions as we further develop this breed, importing dogs and frozen semen from USA.

We believe in the true type of the Australian Shepherd in miniature and have developed a breeding program working with top breeders in the United States to develop our own line of MAS. We will continue to import the best Miniature American Shepherds into Australia over the next few years.

A long time love affair with Australian Shepherds has brought us to our love of the Miniature American Shepherd and our first import into South Australia.

From Hampton Hills Miniature American Shepherds comes "Arwen" - Hampton Hills Faith Works @ Windybrae and a wonderful friendship and mentorship with her breeder, Jennifer Hampton.

MAS, as they are affectionately known, are becoming a very popular breed in the country for those of us with a love of "Aussies" who wanted something a bit smaller. To have such an excellent quality young dog as a foundation to our small breeding program, is indeed an honour and a privilege.

Several people unfamiliar with MAS have said, "Oh, she looks just like an Aussie." Indeed they should look exactly like an Australian Shepherd, only smaller.

Arwen has tested clear for Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD) and non-HSF4 cataracts. The rest of her DNA testing has also now been completed and she is completely clear of all inheritable diseases. Eye clearances are done yearly (clear as of June 2024 under the ORCHID/ACES scheme) and hip & elbow xrays are to be completed some time after 2 years of age.

In time, Arwen will be bred to imported semen in close consultation with her breeder.

Our goal for our breeding program is to produce quality over quantity and dogs that best fit the breed standard and with great temperaments.

I fell in love with these little dogs, both minis and toys during my numerous visits to the United States. Could not believe the breed was not here at that time and so begun the search and import process

I imported my first (AKC) American Kennel Club registered bitch Morgan arriving In Nov 2020. Second two Harlow and Raff (sire of 3 dogs currently showing in Vic) in April 2022 and other bitches Lynley, Kaia and Ari from New Zealand. I am very proud of my dogs and their pedigrees and hope to further improve the breed here using imported semen from Champion lines. I have done full genetic testing of all my breeding dogs, full panel, CDDY, NAD, Hip/elbow and eyes

I am a small breeder of only MAS, living on 100 acres where we breed and raise cattle and cutting horses. My dogs are all with me either inside while I do bookwork or out on the farm enjoying running around freely and swimming in the dams. I breed both show and agility prospects, but focus on temperament then type. My dogs are low drive and do not need excessive exercise

Welcome to Jenzsa, the ANKCs original breeder of Miniature American Shepherds. We imported the very first AKC Miniature American Shepherds as the MAS was not recognised by the national kennel council until our hard work paid off July 26th, 2022.

Our program focuses on producing soundness, type and temperament all true to our Breed Standard, testing for everything as it becomes available and choosing the best of our show and breeding prospects to go forward with.
