Kellick is the oldest Flat Coated Retriever breeding kennel in Australia & New Zealand; we have owned Flat Coated Retrievers since 1975 owning 2 of the foundation stock one from England & the other from New Zealand.
Kellick has had a number of imported dogs over the life of the kennel from New Zealand, England, Scotland and, 3 males from Sweden. Further more recently imported frozen semen from working lines in Finland.
Importation is required to refresh the kennels gene pool and keep it healthy. All breeding stock is health checked suitable for breeding. Puppies available occasionally.
Our dogs are active in the hobby of Retrieving Trialing.
As the breed is a Gun dog and was originally bred for retrieving game when man lived off the land. Here at Kellick we continue to stimulate this instinct in our dogs by competing in Retrieving trials of which is an assimilation of duck shoot using dead pigeons as the game. Our dogs enjoy this hobby as it is in their blueprint to retrieve.

We have owned Flatcoated Retrievers since 1982 and bred our first litter in 1985. Our own dogs have successfully competed in obedience, agility and conformation disciplines. Our current breeding stock is based on our imports from kennel Black Brianta in the Czech Republic, with our current stud dogs being "Cappy" (NZ Ch Extraordinary Black Brianta) and our young dog "Legend" (Legendary Black Brianta). Cappy has gained several placings in agility and obedience from very few outings as our main focus is on breed showing where he has gained multiple class in group, best and reserve in group awards. Legend arrived in February 2023 at 10 months of age and promptly won Best on Parade from 50+ entries at Manawatu and then Puppy in Show at both Taranaki Gundog Club and Hawkes Bay Kennel Association champ shows. He has gained several group placings since including Junior of Group at the Prelude Show in Auckland. These young dogs excite us as they are just getting better and better. Our next litter is planned for the end of 2024 from which some puppies may be available. The sire will be Legend (imported from Czech Republic) and the dam will be Lennie (NZ Ch Alenka of Annaglyn). Whilst primarily breeders of Golden Retrievers we are enjoying a little diversion into Flat Coats.Our first litter along with Abbey's Arangold litter in NZ has already resulted in 6 Champions, a Royal BOB winner and a CCD RN and CD. Abbey Rose won BOB at the Brisbane Royal Show in 2019 and then had her final litter to Almanza Double Action Dark Kiss (Imp Sweden). CUDGEEANDCO Labradors are delighted to announce the arrival of a gorgeous litter of Black & Yellow puppies born on Sunday 4th June. We have one black girl and 1 yellow boy still available.
We breed from quality dogs that have fabulous temperaments and health. The dogs are extremely well socialised; being raised in a family environment on a rural property in Nundle’s ‘hills of gold’, with a menagerie of other animals. Our dogs are very calm and extremely good with children of all ages. Expressions of interest are invited.

We love our puppies, and they are treated as family from the moment of birth, with lots of cuddles. They start their lives inside with us, so we can keep careful watch over them and they can become accustomed to normal household noise. When they are ready, they are carefully introduced to the great outdoors in a safe grassy puppy yard where they can explore and play.
