We are a small kennel in the Esk area in Queensland.
Our dogs are hip scored and DNA tested for PRA and EIC prior to breeding.
We live on a rural property with horses, our dogs are very good with other animals.
We live right on the Murray River in Echuca so our curlies are in the perfect environment for their true love of swimming, retrieving, hunting and being in the open outdoors. Curlies are great, loyal and loving dogs that aim to please their owners in whatever way that is asked of them, from Showing, Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Hunting, Trialing or just curling up on the couch with their owners.
Our dogs are raised in a family environment so they are socially acceptable in any situation.

I have been actively involved with dogs and the wonderful Curly since 1997; Markable's selective breeding progrram rates temperament and physical health as paramount. Markable Curlies are cherished companions; participating joyfully and successfully in Conformation Showing, Obedience, Agility, Jumping, and Retrieving; with titles attained in all disciplines. My dogs are all accomplished retrievers on land and from water. Markable Curlies are used as Assistance dogs and have PAT (public access test) assessment accreditation's. I have successfully trained Markable Curlies as Diabetic and Epilepsy Alert Dogs and for PTSD, ASD and Physical Disabilities. All dogs are health-screened and DNA tested to gauge their suitability prior to breeding. All Markable dogs and puppies are in-home reared and raised on a natural RAW diet. Breed, puppy rearing and behavioural information is willingly provided and ongoing contact encouraged. Markable Kurrujong (pictured)) is a trained AD and a School Therapy Dog. We added a Lagotto Romagnolo to our home as a smaller Assistance Dog in 2019. Bassi is a Medical Alert Dog. Bea the Murray River River joined us in 2022 from Barokamurray Victoria. Dizzyki Kennels have been involved with gundogs since 1984 in Showing, Retrieving and Obedience.
Our Curlies have proved themselves in the showring, as working retrievers, trainable in obedience and as wonderful family companions and watchdogs. We continue to strive to maintain this standard for the truly versatile Curly Coated Retriever.
We breed only from our best dogs..our only aim is to improve the breed, for show, companion and working dogs..and we achieve that every litter.
Curlbrook is a small family run kennel and our involvement with, love for and pomotion of this special breed spans many decades. Whilst Curlbrook has enjoyed success in a variety of activities (showing/field/obedience etc) the most memorable moments have been at home in the dam, paddocks or on the couch. We have been blessed to share our life with some extraordinary curlies.
Our breeding program aims at producing the best possible representation of this unique breed, by producing curlies which have good temperaments and soundness ensuring they are capable of any task set for them, whether it be showing/obedience/hunting/or more importantly fitting right into family life.
