Skyeway Kennels have been established since 1969 when Betty and Annabel Hart began exhibiting & breeding Cairn Terriers and later joined by West Highland White Terriers. Whippets joined us in 1975 when we bought our first whippet from Martinique Kennels which set up our strong relationship we have enjoyed with Ian Doherty and Terry Crowley for many years. Not long after 1975, I (Annabel) married Jon Gunn, also a breeder and exhibitor of whippets, and the three of us combined our experience to produce many champions and Best in Show winners, particularly at Specialist shows. At our small yet select kennel, based at Goolwa in South Australia, we strive to produce quality, good natured, sound dogs that epitomise the standard. In keeping our kennel small we are able to enjoy this beautiful breed, not just as kennel dogs, but first and foremost - as our much loved pets.

The first 12 weeks in a puppy�s life is a crucial stage of their development so effort and dedication is required to properly nurture the puppies. Neurological stimulation begins at Day 3 through to Day 16 followed by a week-to-week age appropriate schedule of enrichment, socialisation and training. Prioritisation is given to providing a stimulating living environment, exercise and active training challenges and balancing all of these components in inside and outside settings. What attracted you to the Australian Shepherd to think about havng one join your family? Temperament, easy to train, family friendly, fun loving and good looking! So really the colour of the dog should not be the only thing you need to think about. Granted that you will have this dog in your life for 12-15 years. But if all the traits you are looking for just happen to come in a colour that is not quite what you had originally thought you would have, well, maybe get another down the line, and make that the colour of your preference! I have 3 beautiful black tri colour boys. All of whom are exhibiting the traits I mentioned above. 2 boys are now 6 months old and ready to learn some new skills with their new families. They love water and would love someone to call their own. The other boy is 3 months old, very laid back and ready to learn. All these boys have been raised with other dogs and cats. Are used to lots of farm noises, trucks, cars, horses, sheep etc etc. They started their lives in my home, underfoot and getting used to the usual household noises. Ausdreaming Cant Stop (Scout) has been mated to Skyepark Braveheart (Bear) and the litter will be due on Boxing Day 2024. Scout is a Red Tri and Bear is a Blue merle who is Red Factored, so this litter will have the potential to have all colours. Pups will be reared at home and socialise with mum, and grandfather, aunt and Bandit who is the Surrogate Mum (just loves all pups and has the greatest patience with little ones) For the first 4- weeks of their lives they will be reared inside our home and then they will be introduced to our large outside enclosure complete with visual stimuli and safe and comfortable sleeping area with hay bales and kennels. During the day they will be able to enjoy running around on our 2 acre property. Both parents have excellent Hips, Elbows and eyes cleared every year. Both have been DNA profiled and have been chosen for structure and temperament. Pups wlil be wormed, mirochipped, inocculated and have their eyes cleared prior to leaving our care. The pups will undergo Temperament Testing at 6 weeks to ensure that pups are matched with the perfect Adopting Parents. Pups will be available to go to their new home by the end of February 2025.
