Since 1974, Chilolo Rhodesian Ridgebacks have made their way into people's hearts and into breed record books. We have the luxury of living on 200 acres so our dogs have plenty of room to run and it is easy to keep them fit and healthy. We encourage people to come and visit to meet our dogs and we believe in providing ongoing support and assistance to our puppy buyers for the life of the puppy. We will always take back a dog we have bred if for any reason the owner is unable to keep him/her. In October 2024, I had honor and privilege to judge over 300 Ridgebacks over 3 days at the RR Club of the USA National Show in Salt Lake City. This is the first time an Australian has judged this show since its inception in the 1950s. RRs are a wonderful breed, but are not for everyone so please consider carefully before you buy one and feel free to contact us for breed information. We can draw on our genuine 50 years experience!

ADBESARE

Since starting my Kennel in 2000 we have endeavoured to continually improve the breed with an focus on temperament and soundness. Ours quality has been proven in the showring with Grand champions and champions as well as multiple in group and show winners. All puppies are raised in the home and socialised with adult Ridgebacks and dachshunds and come with life long support. All dogs are health tested before entering our breeding program. We are taking expressions of interest for show and pet homes for our current litter. Parents have had numerous health testing and passed with flying colours. Puppies come with first vaccination, sterilised, regularly wormed and with a puppy pack. Puppy pack includes puppy information, dog food, toy and towel with scent of the litter.

We are a small family orientated kennel located in the Scenic Rim. We aim to bred for sound temperament, athleticism, well adjusted dogs who are part of our family. All breeding dogs are health tested, DNA profiled and Hip and Elbow scored. Our love of dogs began in childhood. Liz regularly participated in dog shows with her parents who successfully bred Wire Haired Fox Terriers and West Highland White Terriers. Our love of Rhodesian Ridgebacks began in 2018, our first ridgeback joined the family who was followed by a second in 2020. This re-ignited Liz's passion for showing dogs and this quickly became the soon to be retirement interest, along with playing golf of course. The joyous memories of childhood, friendships, adventures and love of family is how we came about our name of Lovatpride. Lovat was the prefix name that belonged to Liz's parents so we are proud to continue this tradition. Our home is set on 5 acres where our dogs are exposed to native wildlife and share their home with children, cats, other dogs and horses. They love to run and chase each other which has led us to the sport of Lure Coursing. Puppies are available now to caring and loving forever homes. Although our dogs are Australian Champions Dogs – they are primarily loved members of our family.
