Situated one hour's drive from Sydney CBD our dogs enjoy the space and tranquility of seven rolling acres in the picturesque Hawkesbury Valley.

We have been owned and loved by Ridgebacks since 1984 and have been privileged to enjoy them both as successful show dogs and wonderful family pets. They have helped raise our two children, guard our home and provided constant faithful companionship.

Breeding for quality, not quantity, we strive for the highest standards of correct confirmation and soundness of temperament, combining top Australian and USA bloodlines.

Our top winning Ch Veldthund Sabre ET (1988-2002)is behind the pedigrees of many of the most successful Ridgebacks in Australia and Europe. As we believe Ridgebacks should have proven soundness, "Sabre" was the first Ridgeback in NSW to gain an Endurance Title. Notable wins include Best in Show at Specialty, Best in Show Hound Specialty, two RU Best in Show Specialty and three times Dog Challenge at Specialty. Of course multiple Best in Group and Class in Show wins at All Breeds level.

Following in the tradition of Sabre is our wonderful Ch Marmatia Gunella Gusto (Gus). Gus is the Best of Breed Winner at the 2011 Sydney Royal and Best in Show Specialty winner 2011. He lives with our two champion girls Peggy and Safi and our up and coming Disa.

At Schlau we are a small, select kennel with Rhodesian Ridgebacks being our second breed. We have been breeding and showing dogs since 1978 and purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback in 1995. Since then our family has grown as as we strive to improve the breed with a select breeding program. All puppies are raised on a natural diet, with children and plenty of room to exercise as they grow and develop. Puppies occasionally available to loving, appropriate homes. We would like to thank all at Lionveldt, Kipsigis, Jedazar and Chilolo for our sound foundation stock and continued support over the last 15 years.

We are not commercial breeders, but Rhodesian Ridgeback enthusiasts, and consider our hobby a lifelong passion.

We have consistently shown a number of Rhodesian Ridgebacks to their titles, and won a number of In Show and In Group awards at both All Breed, Group and Specialty Levels. We did set multiple original Australian records over 30 years ago!
Of note over the recent showing years we have won challenges under numerous breed specialists whose opinions we greatly appreciate. Notable wins include Ziggy winning Runner up to Best in Group under breed Specialist Myron Arthur and Loki winning Best of Breed at Canberra Royal., Tempe taking out Best Brown Nose Bitch in Show at the 2017 and Gypsy winning Opposite Baby in Show NSW Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty Show.
We pride ourselves on having quality ridgebacks that display all characteristics of the breed.
We offer a lifetime of support, a Magombe owners Facebook group, mentoring if you are interested in showing or starting out in the breed, and best of all pups raised in a family environment.

Zambuana Lodge is very proud to announce a stunning new litter of Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies born on the 31st of May. Mum and puppies are doing great.
All of our puppies and adult dogs are well socialised and have great personalities and temperaments. Bred for their temperaments and soundness, our puppies are great with children and will make a great new addition to anyone’s family.
All our puppies will be on limited pedigree papers, even though they are show quality puppies, we do prefer our dogs to be part of a family environment. Our price includes two vet checks, two vaccinations and their Micro-Chipping, a strict worming program and our health and hereditary guarantee. They will also leave us with 6 weeks pet insurance cover with Petcover and a puppy information pack.
You are more than welcome to come and view the puppies and their parents and also their grandparents at any time.
Even though our puppies leave us for their new homes from 8 weeks of age, we are always there to offer advice regardless their age as we love to see where they are growing up and to offer advice where needed.
