A small select kennel located in Wollongong, rarely breeding, only to supplement our own stock. Our dogs are bred for type and of course, temperament, as we believe no matter how good a dog is in the show ring, if it doesn't have a sound temperament then it shouldn't be considered in a breeding program. All of our dogs are x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia and also DNA tested for degenerative myelopathy. All enquiries are welcome. No litters expected until 2022

"Amazing Grace, Noble Heart" LionsLea Rhodesian Ridgebacks are a small kennel based just outside the Australian Capital Territory, not only passionate about our breed but with a special love for the Livernose. For optimum health our dogs are raised by the BARF principles and all dogs in our breeding program are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and DNA tested for degenerative myelopathy. We have now also started testing for Junior Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME). We keenly enjoy campaigning our Ridgebacks in the showring and are incredibly proud of their achievements so far but more importantly we are blessed with loyal and devoted family companions. At Schlau we are a small, select kennel with Rhodesian Ridgebacks being our second breed. We have been breeding and showing dogs since 1978 and purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback in 1995. Since then our family has grown as as we strive to improve the breed with a select breeding program. All puppies are raised on a natural diet, with children and plenty of room to exercise as they grow and develop. Puppies occasionally available to loving, appropriate homes. We would like to thank all at Lionveldt, Kipsigis, Jedazar and Chilolo for our sound foundation stock and continued support over the last 25 years.

We do have available delightful, friendly, sweet temperament, quality female puppies with excellent ridges ready for their new homes. They have had 2 sets of Vaccinations, micro chipped, fully wormed, registered with ANKC. Both parents are hip and elbow x-rayed grade A. DNA health tested for genetic diseases both clear non-carriers. Our puppies are raised in the home. Temperament and health are a priority. Puppies come with an extensive puppy pack including blanket, toy, collar, lead, bowl, teething aids, a weeks supply of their current food and much more, plus a comprehensive information folder on how to feed and care for guide, puppy to adult. All of our puppies and adult dogs are well socialised and have great personalities and temperaments. Having made a decision as to which of my gorgeous boys I am going to go on with from my last (after 40 years) Ridgeback litter, I am making Doc (Isilwane I Am The Future) available for sale. He is a 12 month old very handsome Liver nose boy, from fully tested parents. He has been rotating between my place (semi rural) and a good friend's (suburban surrounds), he is lead trained (slip collar and lead - no harnesses), crate trained, house trained, socialised with lots of other breeds including his Staffy girlfriend Millie, whippets, German Shepherds. He has also been shown with success (happy to consider someone who'd like to bond with him and take him out again - he doesn't like to be rushed). He is very well behaved in the house and was easily taught the boundary of the kitchen when goes on his visits, knows what "on your bed" means and loves bounding onto the bed in the morning for a smooch. Good with kids. Hasn't been around cats. He would do really really well with a companion but also fine if on his own with great humans in his life. This is not a rescue/rehouse situation. He is for sale and we have put a great deal of time and effort into making sure he has the best training (as has his brother) ready for when I made this decision. He is up to date on worming and vaccinations. Happy to do the move to a new home over time with visits and sleepovers to acclimatise him to a new home & family. Reluctantly, I am looking for a new forever home for my gorgeous Zuri (Australian Ch Rijstone Wyndrunhrs Rubys Gift (AI)) She is 6 years old, fit, trim and very healthy, has recently had a litter of pups and been desexed. She has a big outgoing cheeky personality. She is used to being with other ridgebacks and has lived inside and outside but now prefers to be inside and being amongst daily family life. She will either need the company of another ridgeback or people who are mainly home. She is very affectionate and craves attention. She is crate and toilet trained. She loves going for walks.
