We are a Dogs NZ approved breeder of Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in North Auckland. All breeding dogs are DNA tested and screened for hip and elbow dysplasia. Our dogs are very much part of the family and we like to include them in our everyday activities.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks originally were bred as an all purpose, versatile, tracking, running and lion hunting hound. Although there seems to be a lack of lions New Zealand, we aim to keep this potential ability in the dogs physique (just in case), along with nurturing amazing temperaments to make fantastic additions to families.

Our foundation girl Chili-Pepper (from Germany) moved back to New Zealand with us at the end of 2022, bringing new lines and diversity to the Ridgeback community here. We are really excited to see what emerges and to produce happy, healthy, outstanding examples of the breed.

Located in Katikati in the North Island of New Zealand, JAHARI is a small family run kennels based on our lifestyle block. We have many grandies whom play a large roll in our puppies upbringing. A royal Canine puppy pack which he/she has been weaned on to 3 feeds a day, and all babies will have had their microchip for registration at your local council.

Shangoridge are currently taking expressions of interest while they excitedly await their expected up and coming litter due at the end of August.

Both Vin and Inka have lovely temperaments, Inka proved to be an exceptional mum to her first litter and absolutely adores babies be it her own litter or someone else’s. We have been involved with showing and breeding our Rhodesian Ridgebacks for 15 years, only breeding occasionally. Our puppies are raised on our rural property in our home along with our adult dogs and children.
