Shemshi Ridgebacks are based on a 145 acre Red Devon Beef farm in the Waimata Valley, Gisborne. Established 24+years ago in the UK, I immigrated with three generations in 2007. I am planning a second litter with Shemshi Tamela due November 2023. My litters are born and raised in the lounge to maximise their socialisation. Parents are health tested, hip and elbow scored for dysplasia, DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy, Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. Your puppy will come with: 1st health check & vaccination. (including checks for Dermoid Sinus) Wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age. Puppy food Your pup's family tree. 4 weeks free pet insurance. Pedigree papers from the NZKC (some endorsements may apply) Lifetime support from me as the breeder.

Established in 1979, we continue to produce happy, healthy hounds suitable for all facets of family life, with emphasis on soundness and temperament. We currently have 3 RR's (along with 4 Whippets) in residence. All our Ridgebacks are Xrayed for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia prior to breeding. They have also been DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy (Clear) , JME (Clear) & Early Onset Adult Deafness (Clear) and Heart Checked Clear with Richard Woolley (Cardiologist). At Hamalek we are breeders of Alaskan Malamutes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. All our dogs live in a family enviroment and enjoy spending time with us camping, bush walking, showing and sled dog racing.

To this aim we strive to produce only puppies that are healthy, sound, meet and surpass their breed conformation standards. We breed only from dogs with proven bloodlines and true to the breed standard with no known health issues, with exceptional temperaments, loyal and much loved. ALL of our breeding dogs undergo a Full Breed Disease DNA Profile. We have been involved in the fabulous breed in both breed confrontation showing and breeding for 30+ years. We breed sparingly but pride ourselves in producing a sound true to type dog suitable as a loving family member, and for the show ring if desired. We stand behind our dogs for the duration of there lives and support our new owners with information, training guides and fun puppy get togethers to ensure a good fit for you and your family. We do have available delightful, friendly, sweet temperament, quality female puppies with excellent ridges ready for their new homes. They have had 2 sets of Vaccinations, micro chipped, fully wormed, registered with ANKC. Both parents are hip and elbow x-rayed grade A. DNA health tested for genetic diseases both clear non-carriers. Our puppies are raised in the home. Temperament and health are a priority. Puppies come with an extensive puppy pack including blanket, toy, collar, lead, bowl, teething aids, a weeks supply of their current food and much more, plus a comprehensive information folder on how to feed and care for guide, puppy to adult. Having made a decision as to which of my gorgeous boys I am going to go on with from my last (after 40 years) Ridgeback litter, I am making Doc (Isilwane I Am The Future) available for sale. He is a 12 month old very handsome Liver nose boy, from fully tested parents. He has been rotating between my place (semi rural) and a good friend's (suburban surrounds), he is lead trained (slip collar and lead - no harnesses), crate trained, house trained, socialised with lots of other breeds including his Staffy girlfriend Millie, whippets, German Shepherds. He has also been shown with success (happy to consider someone who'd like to bond with him and take him out again - he doesn't like to be rushed). He is very well behaved in the house and was easily taught the boundary of the kitchen when goes on his visits, knows what "on your bed" means and loves bounding onto the bed in the morning for a smooch. Good with kids. Hasn't been around cats. He would do really really well with a companion but also fine if on his own with great humans in his life. This is not a rescue/rehouse situation. He is for sale and we have put a great deal of time and effort into making sure he has the best training (as has his brother) ready for when I made this decision. He is up to date on worming and vaccinations. Happy to do the move to a new home over time with visits and sleepovers to acclimatise him to a new home & family. Reluctantly, I am looking for a new forever home for my gorgeous Zuri (Australian Ch Rijstone Wyndrunhrs Rubys Gift (AI)) She is 6 years old, fit, trim and very healthy, has recently had a litter of pups and been desexed. She has a big outgoing cheeky personality. She is used to being with other ridgebacks and has lived inside and outside but now prefers to be inside and being amongst daily family life. She will either need the company of another ridgeback or people who are mainly home. She is very affectionate and craves attention. She is crate and toilet trained. She loves going for walks.
