Shangoridge is a small select kennel located in the Upper Murray in North EastVictoria. Only breeding occasionally our puppies are raised in a rural family home environment socialized with both children and adults along with other family pets/ livestock. We are a family kennel and have been breeding and had Rhodesian Ridgebacks living with us in our home since 1984. Our lives would not be complete without our beautiful Ridgebacks,

Breeding true to type, excellence in temperament, health and soundness. Breeding for show or family companions.

Our Ridgebacks are X-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia and DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy, Myoclonic Epilepsy Rhodesian Ridgeback type, all cleared before breeding.

Our puppies are raised in our family home. They are vet checked, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. Pups are checked at birth and then each week for Dermoid Sinus. We take seriously where our puppies go and it is very important our pups go to caring loving homes.

We started out as a family with enormous passion to learn and develop our lines to be the best we possibly could. We breed only the highest quality Rhodesian Ridgeback pups for not only temperament but breed characteristics. With small children ourselves we select only the best natured breeding pairs thats will produce pups that are not highly strung but great all round family dogs that we would have no issues recommending them to our freinds and family. We understand how exciting but also challenging it can be not only bringing home the perfect new life companion but choosing the breeder who you connect with and trust. When we first started out this was the hardest bit we found getting open communication with a breeder that was willing to share there blood lines and give us an opportunity to grow our passion for the breed

We offer life time on going support and advise to all our puppy owners. Our breeding dogs have had there hips and elbows scored as well as having all breed required tests. We are able to assist in interstate transfer if needed.

Ujamaa kennels- breeders of champions and companions since 1978. We have owned or bred over 40 Champions, but show rarely these days. Our primary objective is to breed sound companions- to do this we source the best stud dogs for our girls- most recently travelling to Crufts in the UK and the World Dog show in Croatia to find the best. Our current companions are Aust Ch Ujamaa Alessandra Facchinetti (Allie) and Ujamaa Winx, daughter of Int Ch Vizara Jukati and Allie.

I have a particular interest in genetic diseases and dogs we breed with are routinely screened for sound hips, elbows and degenerative myelopathy (DM). Some lines are also screened for cardiac issues by ultrasound and/or hypothyroidism.

We also work with Cat Glenn and family- they are owned by Zuri and Rosie. Fran Parsons and her pack are also in "the family"
