During my time studying animal behaviour, Maggie was used for many conditioning video's and class demonstrations, she not only helped me achieve top marks but she has proved her self to be worthy as a therapy dog.

Once believed to be on the verge of extinction this anicent medium-sized Italian duck dog was granted probational recognition on the international stage in 1998 in an attempt to maintain the breed worldwide,based on the current breed standards we see today this little dog has come along way for sure !
Blessed with our first 2 girls in 2004 from the 1st and 2nd imports into Australia, absolutely taken by their joyful quirkiness and love for life we welcomed our boy in 2005 from the 3rd imported italian line into Australia and with the arrival of our very first litter of puppies in 2006
Luv A Lagotto began its journey as a registered breeder.

Over the years we have expanded on those original bloodlines, adding new bloodlines imported into Australia, in doing so we aim to expand the gene pool for health and diversity while maintaining this ancient Italian duck dog so generations to come may also enjoy this beautiful breed.

Our dogs are happy dogs and enjoy being dogs! running,playing,lazing about with a swim in the dam or the occasional roll in the good old dirt they defiantly enjoying a great dogs life.

Our puppies leave home vet cheched, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and registered with pedigree,Parents are DNA tested,good in hips, eyes and elbows ,healthy and robust but just as import, they have loving friendly natures which makes them great pets

Hello, we are the Truffle Patch a small truffle farm in the Canberra Region nestled amongst the wineries of Murrumbateman. In 2009 our family fell in love with Truffles and the Italian Truffle Dogs, Lagotto Romagnolo. Follow our facebook page 'Athelas Lagotto - ACT / NSW' and share our journey.

All our puppies are clear by parentage for genetic disorder and their parent’s hip and elbow scores are within the breed standard.

All our puppies go to their forever homes vet checked and socialised with children and other animals. Our Junior Truffle Hunters will also be exposed to truffle scent and truffle play. All our dogs are proven truffle hunter and we are confident their puppies will be too!

We have carefully chosen our breeding lines to ensure our dogs are a beautiful combination of gentle, social and curious. Our girls are delightful gentle natured and love to be around people and to play and snuggle with kids and adults alike. They are also incredibly intelligent, curious and energetic and loves to hunt for truffles.

Our apologies to those looking for new companions, our wait list is currently quite long and we will likely re-open our wait list in mid 2025. We are always happy to speak with people about the breed and to have visitors come and see our dogs to learn more about Lagotto.

I am a Family Dog Home breeder with this being my first litter. My dogs have excellent Lagotto characteristics and my girl is DNA tested and Vet checked. I have been a member of Dogs NSW and the Lagotto Club of NSW for 10 years plus. My dogs have been raised as pets but have participated in small agility and sell activities with the club. Their parents have all come from a prominant breeding kennel with great record. Although my Lagottos were never shown they are loving and faithful friends and Im sure the puppies will make wonderful pets or even show dogs if you enjoy that too.
