Skyefall Kennels is proud to welcome the new breed Miniature American Shepherd (MAS) to Australia! We worked closely with our parent breed club in the United States, MASCUSA to be instrumental in the recognition of the breed in Australia. We are one of the first breeders of MAS in Australia and look forward to sharing this wonderful breed downunder. Welcome to Jenzsa, the ANKCs original breeder of Miniature American Shepherds. We imported the very first AKC Miniature American Shepherds as the MAS was not recognised by the national kennel council until our hard work paid off July 26th, 2022. Our program focuses on producing soundness, type and temperament all true to our Breed Standard, testing for everything as it becomes available and choosing the best of our show and breeding prospects to go forward with. I fell in love with these little dogs, both minis and toys during my numerous visits to the United States. Could not believe the breed was not here at that time and so begun the search and import process I imported my first (AKC) American Kennel Club registered bitch Morgan arriving In Nov 2020. Second two Harlow and Raff (sire of 5 dogs currently showing) in April 2022 and other bitches Lynley, Kaia and Ari AND TILLY RECENTLY from New Zealand. I am very proud of my dogs and their pedigrees and hope to further improve the breed here using imported semen from Champion lines. I have done full genetic testing of all my breeding dogs, full panel, CDDY, NAD, Hip/elbow and eyes I am a small breeder of only MAS, living on 100 acres where we breed and raise cattle and cutting horses. My dogs are all with me either inside while I do bookwork or out on the farm enjoying running around freely and swimming in the dams. I breed both show and agility prospects, but focus on temperament then type. My dogs are low drive and do not need excessive exercise

I have fallen in love with this breed, after owning Australian Shepherds for over 20 years. We are waiting for our imports to arrive sometime this year. She is not as active as other herding dogs, and a lot smaller than I had thought but perfect to size. Starting agility come Feb '24' will be a true test for the stamina of us both. Maya has had her health testing, hips and elbows and also eyes to be tested annually due again Feb 2024. In February my newest additions, Replay and Tango arrived to my farm from France. Here they join my large farm family of horses, rescue goats and chickens and my White Swiss Shepherds that I breed, show and trial under the prefix Diamondswiss. I certainly need a bigger couch! Replay and Tango are bred by the wonderful Bois Des Ternes kennels in France. Nathalie has been breeding Swiss and Miniature American Shepherds for years. Her dogs certainly stand out with their beauty, type, amazing coats and their temperament. I was so grateful to be trusted with such stunning examples of the breed. Nathalie confided that she had been watching me closely for years and could see how happy my dogs were at home and for her it was not a difficult decision. Replay Swanee River Du Bois Des Ternes has been very successful in the show ring in Europe. So far his accomplishments include: Champion of France Junior Champion of France Swiss Champion Best Male at the National Breeding - at 11 months Vice European Champion Vice World Champion BOB and Winner World Dog Show 2023 Geneva In Australia Replay is the only MAS to win BIG and R/Up BIS. Tango is a stunning girl with a thick, full coat and lots of drive but as I write this, she is snuggled on the couch! Like Replay, she is a very good example of the breed, looking very much like a small Aussie Shepherd. I have exciting plans for breeding a small number of quality and unique litters that won't be found anywhere else in Australia.

A long time love affair with Australian Shepherds has brought us to our love of the Miniature American Shepherd and our first import into South Australia. From Hampton Hills Miniature American Shepherds comes "Arwen" - Hampton Hills Faith Works @ Windybrae and a wonderful friendship and mentorship with her breeder, Jennifer Hampton. MAS, as they are affectionately known, are becoming a very popular breed in the country for those of us with a love of "Aussies" who wanted something a bit smaller. To have such an excellent quality young dog as a foundation to our small breeding program, is indeed an honour and a privilege. Several people unfamiliar with MAS have said, "Oh, she looks just like an Aussie." Indeed they should look exactly like an Australian Shepherd, only smaller. Arwen has tested clear for Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD) and non-HSF4 cataracts. The rest of her DNA testing has also now been completed and she is completely clear of all inheritable diseases. Eye clearances are done yearly (clear as of June 2024 under the ORCHID/ACES scheme) and hip & elbow xrays are to be completed some time after 2 years of age. In time, Arwen will be bred to imported semen in close consultation with her breeder. Our goal for our breeding program is to produce quality over quantity and dogs that best fit the breed standard and with great temperaments.

Welcome to Karelea Australian & Miniature American Shepherds.
