Our first introduction to Vizsla was when we purchased Taz (Essential Gold of Hi-VIz) in 2003. We fell in love with the short hair, velvet golden coat, the eagerness to please, and the gentle yet energetic nature of our dog. We added a bitch, Ponsonby Golden Ruby. In 2012 we registered Shemariah Kennels with DOGSNZ. All our dogs are hip and elbow-scored. As a hunter I have primarily bred for the hunting fraternity, keeping the odd pup to continue our wonderful lines. As a passionate Pedigree Jersey cow breeder, my breeding has been greatly influenced by my understanding that form dictates function. Without correct confirmation, both longevity and a physically productive life are compromised. Hence, I have established lines using Show Champion Dogs where possible. Never just using "Zac" down the road because he is an awesome hunter. In more recent years I have endeavoured to expand the NZ bloodlines by importing semen from 3 different dogs from Europe. Again, my selection criteria has been around excellence in conformation and National or International show winnings, combined with a very strong hunting lineage and prowess. Today we are excited to have dogs from both Quatro Magyar-Tim PP1 and Facanvadasz Ambrus, each with numerous titles in show and field and excellent health traits. " Habanero" is a small kennel, and has become synonymous within the breed for excellent temperaments. Our Vizslas are bred from top Australian, English, Hungarian and American lines, including direct imports from Hungary and the United States. Our dogs participate in shows and many of their progeny compete in obedience, tracking, and agility. We have dogs in hunting homes and dogs as wonderful companions and family pets across Australia, Hawaii, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the USA. Our puppies are raised in the home and are subjected to all the activity of everyday farm life. With friends and visitors coming and going the puppies are socialized well with people and our dogs. Edited to add that all girls are sold, there are a couple of boys left! Exciting times here at Kenishka! A week ago we were happy to welcome a very special litter of three girls and five boys! As some of you know , my house is on the market and it�s not a suitable time for me to have a litter of puppies at home. So Elise Hinde, Willows owner and breeder is raising this litter for me. The best thing is that she doesn�t live too far from me so there will be plenty of visits! The puppies will of course be raised using PuppyCulture ethos like their mother, grandmother and father. Metropolis is helping to rehome a 7 month old desexed female vizsla and a 10 month old female vizsla. Both are well behaved and used to living in the house, very affectionate and easy going. We are rehoming these girls solely due to changes in family circumstances. Fully vaccinated, microchipped, lead and house trained, the 7 month old comes with lifetime support by BarkBusters, the 10 month old has completed puppy school, both have lived with children.
