VEDAMEA Rough Collies are professional breeders, established in 1979 and reared on five acres of lush green paddocks at the foot of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. Now calling the stunning 7 mile beaches of Lake Cathie on the NSW Mid North Coast out home; our Collies run free with lots of fresh air and sunshine and pristine coastal landscapes to bound around in a happy and well-adjusted lifestyle. A wholesome natural diet produces sound and healthy animals. Our experience and appreciation for the value of a true working dog is linked to our strong rural roots. Although most breeds today are not required to work as such, we believe retaining this working ability is essential to produce Collies suitable as show dogs, for obedience or just simply good companions - healthy in body and spirit.

The Collie has an aesthetic value shared by few other breeds. They are always willing to please with wonderful temperaments and a great desire to be with you. They are wonderful dogs for almost anyone.

Vedamea Collies has a small, responsible breeding program reflecting our commitment to relevant testing. We have imported numerous quality Collies over the years to infuse into our breeding program, ensuring not only improvement of breed type, but also the introduction of new bloodlines ensures continued good health to our lovely breed.

Established in 1998 with our first litter bred 2000. Home of two Australian Grand Champions Breeders of multiple Champions here in Australia, South Africa and Singapore.
We are a small kennel dedicated to breeding for the betterment of the breed. Breeding for type and temperament, combining the best of English, European and Australian blood lines. All of our puppies are eye tested before 8 weeks and, where possible, all breeding stock is hip scored. Pedigrees and certificates available upon request. Visitors always welcome and all queries answered. Puppies in all three colours sometimes available although we do specialise in blue merles and tri colours as a kennel. Home-bred primarily Sable Rough-coats bred for the Show-ring, Dogsports or Companionship, with an emphasis on superb temperament and soundness for movement ...a true working dog ... promoting the breed in Obedience & Agility performance, and sparingly in the Conformation ring, with a couple of our youngsters consistently doing us proud at shows around Adelaide.
All potential breeding stock are DNA-tested and hip-&-elbow-scored for health & soundness considerations, with results available on inquiry.
I also look after South Australian Collie Rescue, and will occasionally have pure-bred Collies (Rough or Smooth) of varying ages, and usually of unknown origins, available to the right pet home. All rescue dogs are de-sexed, microchipped, vaccinated, Heartworm tested, wormed, house-trained, and have been socialised with dogs, cats and people, and been given basic training (some a little more than basic, depending on how long they've stayed with me).
