Having exhibited and bred many amazing Champion, Best In Show , Runner Up Best In Show and Specialty winning dogs since 1977. Only a small boutique kennel. The Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen have stolen my heart and taken over my home. So proud of them.
In residence at the moment my GBGV include the first Supreme Champion in the breed in Australia.
Supreme Ch.Rickaby Cruise, with his half brother Grand Ch. Rickaby From Me To U, top 8 hound Sydney Royal and also close to his Supreme title.


Proven sire and although sparingly shown , multi class in show winner Rickaby High Voltage, and the upcoming Best in Hound Groups and multiple class in show winning superstar Ch . Mertoness Toryburn s This Is Me. With litter sister Ch. Mertoness Toryburns Miss Grace also a making her mark winning in the in show line ups. While Ch.Rickaby French Lace and Ch. Rickaby Guess I'm Good and Ch. Mertoness Toryburns Angelique have produced some wonderful offspring. CH. Rickaby Extra Special also a specialty and multi class winning girl.
Some of my other young GBGV will be entering the ring in 2023. Being passionate about the GBGV . A wonderful, intelligent, loyal, and devoted fun breed. We have our GBGV in most states in Australia now. A great family dog. We are always glad to help with any questions regarding the breed.

2013 sees Milo (GD CH Debucher Milord UK) become Australia's first Grand Champion for the breed Milo is also the sire of top winning dogs
Now in 2014 Quincy (GD CH Rickaby Bound For Glory owned Harnett/Dorr) becomes Australia's first home bred Grand Champion. Cruise becomes an Australian Champion (CH Rickaby Cruise owned D Tidey) with only limited outings not only gains his title but is specialty runner up in show winner, a multi group, in group winner
2 Supreme Champions in 2 States in 7 days, CH Rickaby Cruise owned by D Tidey NSW became a Supreme Champion on 25 September 2015 attaining his last points and on 3 October 2015 GD CH Rickaby Bound for Glory owned J Harnett/K Dorr QLD won is last required group to make him a Supreme Champion

Polarhike are thrilled to announce we have puppies available from our recent litter between our 2 homebred champions Metra and Calcifer.

We currently have 2 Black and White boys available on limited register (Not for breeding)

Our puppies are raised in a home environment. They are very much a part of the family during their development at Polarhike HQ.
Beginning the foundations of toilet training, markers (operant conditioning), and daily housing routines using proven and highly recommended puppy raising protocols.
This litter brings together a nice merge of older lineage and modern lineage, working heavily on maintaining appropriate temperaments, health, correct structure and healthy drive.
Our dogs are proven in harness work and have had exceptional results to date.
Both parents are fantastic examples of the breed and have a full health testing panel including screening of Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Thyroid and a full genetic health panel through orivet.
