Hugh Garvican was the founder of Leberhine and a 'life member' of the German Shepherd Dog Club of South Australia, a Breed Surveyor and an ANKC group 5 judge. Hugh was my father and his legacy to Robert and I is his love for the German Shepherd and their improvement. Though we owned a Gold Medal winner 1976 (Ch Tandina Mollie) and bred/own a Silver Medal winner 2016 (Ch Leberhine Umeeko) and have owned/bred dogs/bitches gaining first in all classes excepting Open in a GSDCA National, we still believe our greatest achievement is providing quality pups who become a major part of a family! All our dogs are part of our family. Their outstanding character and temperament are transparent in their progeny. We have been showing and breeding since the early 1980's however we had a break of 18 years and returned once our children left home. She went on to breed my next best show bitch Aust Ch* Leppsdorf Jewel AZ multi Exc.Another was * Sheprose Im Intriguing AZ dam to Leppsdorf Serita, Winema & Zaneta all Exc graded. I was lucky to go in partnership in 2 successful bitches *Siegersheim Elke Az( P&K Flynn) most successful prog. Leppsdorf Thera AZ J D Winner 2005 Bris. VONGOTHAM German Shepherds is a small breeder based in the Adelaide Plains, SA. We have put our whole heart into VONGOTHAM, this is our life and lifestyle that has now gone on for generations from my father and great grandfather in Holland. We adore the German Shepherd breed, it is all we know and can’t wait to build our own community here with our own beautiful pups and families. As the owner of VONGOTHAM we put on social gatherings, walks or BBQs so you can meet and play with your puppy’s siblings and see the other dogs we have bred and plan to breed. The VONGOTHAM breeding program only has 2-3 litters a year with both the sire and dam passing hip and elbow scores. Our puppies are raised on our 3-acre farm with small children and in a loving happy environment. We breed for temperament and obedience, having a young family I do believe if you have a well-mannered and well-grounded dog it is most important, and you can build from there. We do our best to make it peaceful and calm, we put a lot of time into our pups, and I really do believe it shows in our puppies with their laidback temperament and well socialized natures. We ensure the whole experience from day one of your pups life will be exciting with visits, possibly too many photo updates and a life time support network of people here to help.
