Borzoi Breeders, WA

Marakhoff Kennels has been exhibiting and breeding 'Best In Show' winning Borzoi for more than 40 years. We have imported bloodlines from Canada and the UK, and exported to the USA, Italy, Malaysia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan. A small "boutique" kennel, we occasionally offer thoughtfully bred puppies to approved homes. All our dogs are DNA tested, and have current heart, eye and thyroid clearances. Bookings recommended.

We have been showing and breeding hounds since 1972. In 1988 we acquired our first Borzoi followed in 1989 by a Deerhound. Due to business commitments, we exhibit our dogs only sparingly. Despite this our Borzois have done well in the showring and on the coursing field. We have imported frozen semen from Teine Borzois in the USA of males that have both show and coursing titles. Although we prefer the darker colours, temperament is the most important attribute we breed for. All our dogs are housedogs and part of the family.

Strikeness Sighthounds, established in 1980, seriously concentrating on Borzoi since 2002. Our aims are to rear healthy hounds along the principles of Juliette de Bairacli Levy. We seek to breed honest hounds with good hunting instincts that can do the job they were designed for. To do this we think type, balance and temperament important. Dogs that can hunt, course and win in the ring. For us and for others. For the past few years dogs carrying the Strikeness prefix have consistently taken top honours in the NZ Borzoi pointscore as well as in the breed on Dogzonline pointscore.
