I fell in love with Border Terriers whilst working in the UK 20yrs ago.
Since then I have always owned Borders and have more recently moved into breeding occasionally.
My puppies live with us, are well socialised and bred to be pets and part of the family. They come with limited registration and are vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with all preventatives.
Prior to enquiring about puppies please research the breed and make sure it is suited to your family, lifestyle and financial capabilities.
I have enjoyed some success with my Border Terriers at Dog Shows and ocasionally I will have a litter with a new puppy to show. Both my dogs breeding is From the UK and one I bred myself and also Show.
I love this breed and it is good to see its popularity grow.
Litters sometimes available
I'm a very experienced breeder, having bred, shown & trained Boxers since the 1980s, and Border Terriers (BT) since 2008.
But our dogs are above all loved family members.
I plan litters only if confident of producing healthy, long-lived, loving companions. I’m active in dog sports so I prioritise sound construction and temperament.
In 2022 I added a lovely wee Border Terrier girl to my family (Lester Borda-Call Me Isla). Isla is co-owned with her breeders Julie Clarke (Lester Borda) and Sue Smith (Dunrobin).
Isla produced a litter of four plump pups on 24th May 2024. The sire of the litter is NZ Ch. Dunrobin The Chase is On ('Chase'). The puppies look fabulous so far, and Isla's a great mum.
It is important to me that every pup has the best possible chance of a long and happy life. That means I prioritise health testing and rigorous early socialisation for pups. It also means I need to feel confident that prospective puppy parents are a good match for the characteristics of the breed, and the temperament of a particular pup. With 30+ years breeding, owning and training dogs I'm a pretty good judge of what will work best for a family and for my pups :)
If you are interested in a puppy, please email me about your home / family, and your experience with dog ownership. It's also helpful if you can share why you want a Border Terrier, and what your ideal pup would be like. Don't hesitate to ask questions too of course :)
After first sourcing the perfect pet dog for my young boys back in 2009 I soon became a Border Terrier advocate and fan. I have spent 14 years learning all I can from reputable breeders and researching this fantastic breed to ensure my kennel is producing sound temperament and type.
Puppies are raised in our home following Puppy Culture Protocols. Visit my facebook page @Muterus Border Terriers And Precision Bluetick Coonhounds, for all you need to know about Muterus and our values. Please read the pinned post and comments.
Often a wait of upto 2 years for a Muterus Puppy can be expected.
We are proud to have homebred 7 Champions over our 'short' 10 years of breeding including Covid pauses.
Our Kennel Promise is: Well mannered and socialised puppies leave us to live their best lives we have lovingly chosen for them.
We welcome visitors at dog sport events we attend around the North Island so you can meet a few of our team and see if our breeds are going to enrich your life as much as they do ours.
