Benbowin is a small devoted kennel in Central West NSW, with over 40 yrs experience in Purebred Dogs. Welcoming enquiries and happy to share information and encouragement of this delightful hound the Basset. Benbowin Basset hounds are seen in the Showring, working homes and Family lounges with loving natures and larrikin characters.

Small family raised kennel where our bassets are a part of our family. We believe in breeding healthy, conformationally correct, beautiful tempered examples of the breed. Our bassets are with us as part of our family - you'll find them holidaying with us, travelling with us for work, and in general seeing what mischief they can get into around the farm. We show our dogs and also enjoy different training pursuits with them. While we breed mainly for ourselves, we may occasionally have puppies available to the best of homes.

Having owned Basset Hounds for over 40 years, our goal is to also help others enjoy the breed. We are located on a small acreage property in South Gippsland, Victoria and our Bassets are part of our home. All puppies have Registration Papers and will leave Microchipped, Vaccinated, Wormed, Vet checked and with a Starter Puppy Kit. We are on Facebook under 'Clementess Basset Hounds' and we are registered members of Dogs Victoria.

Thelmae currently have a long awaited litter on the ground and will have a couple of puppies available to the right homes with 3 of the puppies staying on with us to have some fun in the ring. We are extremely dedicated and proactive when it comes to raising physically and mentally sound dogs. Our puppies parents dabble in scent fields, conformation shows as well as their main job.... being our most favourite furry family members. Photos are of current litter. We currently have a tri colour female and two tri colour male puppies that are ready to go to their new homes now. The cost of our puppies is $3,500 and that includes registration (full registration with Dogs Qld), immunisation, micro-chipping, chiropractor check and a vet check prior to departure. Our pedigrees are of the highest standard and quality, with blood lines including dogs imported from the United States of America, England, and Ireland. We take great pride in breeding sound basset hounds, and as a result of this have had major wins in many states, and our Kennel name appearing on many winning dogs which is something we are very proud of. We have 50 years of trouble-free breeding and have clean lines as we have been very careful with what we have used to improve the breed. Some of our more recent successes include winning Best In Show at the Basset Hound National Show held in Vic in Nov 2023, Best in Show at both the Qld and NSW Basset Hound Club Championship shows as well as Best of Breed at both shows held at the Brisbane Royal in 2024.
