Wurroit Bedlingtons are raised in a family environment resulting in friendly, loyal dogs tolerant of new people and young children. Bedlington terriers have a non-shedding coat which makes them an ideal dog for people with allergies or asthma.

Wurroit Bedlingtons are enjoying life as much loved pets and show dogs in Qld, NSW, Vic., S.A., W.A., Tas. the N.T., and overseas in Sweden, New Zealand, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Our most recent litter arrived on January 12th 2007 and was the result of a mating between our liver bitch, Aust Ch Wurroit Diamond Ice and Cathy Robinson's (NSW) UK import Aust Ch Tolpedn Royal Fling. This produced four liver pups who joined their new homes at the end of March 07.

Litters in 2005 and 2006 included a number of bi-colour pups (blue and tan and liver and tan), with many of these pups achieving good results in the ring. Wurroit Wicked Wench, a blue and tan girl from the 2006 litter is staying with us and is achieving some success in the ring.

Our next litter is planned for the end of 2008 or early 2009 and will be between a sandy import from Sweden (Isotops Viking) and our blue and tan bitch Wurroit Wicked Wench.

Healthy puppies, true to type with excellent temperaments. All breeding stock have been tested for Copper Toxicosis,and as they are sterilised they are biopsied to check their livers for signs of damage, so far all have been clear of the disease. All dogs are tested yearly for congenital and non congenital eye diseases and have tested clear

Ausbed is a blending of leading Australian bloodlines, our UK boy bred by noted British breeder and judge Ken Bounden will add an extra dimension, as will our new girl from Isotops Kennel in Sweden. We have added a blue and tan girl from Wurroit kennels and imported frozen semen from the UK. Our aim is quality.

We breed and show healthy true-to-type Bedlington Terriers. We imported CT clear Liver & Tan and Blue lines from UK kennels who had never exported to Australia before. They were happy to supply championship stock to assist us in improving the breed and enlarging the gene pool in Australia. The Sire for our Liver & Tan lines was UK Top Bedlington Terrier 2000/1 and is a European and Belgian Champion (Dalip Lord of the Rings). The Sire for our Blue lines is English Champion Mollora Fire King and the Dam is Ladys Maid Tolpedn (bred by Ken Bounden).

Ziggy excels in movement, personality and breed type. A balanced 16 inch dog. Ziggy has achieved many class in groups and shows in the various puppy classes and several best of breeds and dog challenges from the minor and puppy class. His first class in junior 17th February 2007 he was also awarded runner up in group. Ziggy's best achievement to date was obtaining best of breed and being selected in the final 8 in the terrier group at the 2007 Sydney Royal Dog Show under Mrs W Hubenthal of Norway. Special thanks must go to his breeder Robyn Bates (Piperdene Kennels) to come into a gundog/dalmatian household.

We fell in love with Bedlington Terriers eight years ago, when we saw them at a Pet Expo. Our son is asthmatic and we were looking for a dog that didn't shed hair. We found that and so much more in the bedlington.

We waited three years for our first bedlington, Jimmy. He has such a beautiful nature. He loves a long walk or to play in the garden, but is just as happy to sit with the family in front of the TV of an evening.

With bedlingtons you find that one is never enough and so Lily joined us. She is a confident girl who always needs to know what is going on.

Our aim is to breed true to standard, well adjusted animals that are clear of hereditary disease.

Piperdene Kennels has been producing beautiful Bedlingtons since 1985 not just for the showring but as loving, affectionate pets. Our aim is to produce Bedlingtons as close to the standard as possible, with the best most reliable temperament.

Piperdene is directly involved in the current scheme to eradicate copper toxicosis from the breed and is a member of the syndicate which has imported copper toxicosis free dogs over the past 12 years to enable the breeding of unaffected Bedlingtons.
