First started judging in 1992.
Ken holds Championship show licences for Terriers and Gundogs. Under his prefix Belltirna, Ken successfully owned, bred and handled Airedale Terriers for nearly 40 years. Over the past 2 decades he has been showing and breeding Smooth Fox Terriers with his wife Janice Campbell under their Optimo prefix.
Ken has judged many specialty shows including the Fox Terrier Club of Queensland; Inaugural Championship Shows of the American Staffordshire Club of NSW and the Thai Bangkeaw in Thailand; Sporting Terrier Clubs of Canberra and Tasmania; Western Australia Terrier Club, Smooth Fox Terrier Club of NSW, Scottish Terrier Club of NSW.
Ken has judged in all States of Australia and the ACT, Hungary, Austria, Norway, United States, Thailand, South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland, Philippines and judged at the World Dog Show in Hungary. Ken has regularly attended many world-famous dog shows.
Ken and Jan have exported dogs to Europe, Finland, Hungary and the USA, including the Smooth Fox Terrier Aust Am Ch Mansevale Madeira My Dear to the United States where she was the foundation bitch for the renowned Sunrise Kennel of Claire Hoffman and Int. / Multi Ch Optimo Optical Illusion #1 Terrier and #2 All Breeds in Finland in a highly successful show career. Jan was co-breeder of Am Eng Pol Ch Sunrise Rascal Fair (Angus), #1 terrier in the UK 2005. Ken also owned and handled the leading Irish Terrier in Victoria in the early 90’s and has handled several other breeds including at the European and World Dog Shows.
Ken is a former Secretary of the Airedale and Fox Terrier Clubs of Victoria, Past President of the Smooth Fox Terrier Club of Victoria and Chairperson of the Publications committee and member of the Disciplinary committee for Dogs Victoria, Ken was also a committee member on several All Breeds Kennel Clubs and Victorian correspondent for Ringleader National Dog newspaper for several years.
