Judge Profile

Conformation dog shows and events have certainly became a passion since 2001 when I took on my first show dogs - an Akita and my first Tibetan Mastiff. My energy has been particularly drawn to the Tibetan Mastiff, establishing Amitabha Kennels in 2004. Along with husband Philip, we have campaigned dogs (TMs, Akita and Neapolitan Mastiff) to Supreme, Grand Champion and Australian champion titles, with our home bred male Amitabha Gimli taking RUBIS at Brisbane Royal in 2017. We have campaigned a number of dogs in our kennel to Best in Show wins. I have also enjoyed the opportunity of showing dogs at All Breeds and Specialty shows in the USA, as well as visiting Tibet to see my heart breed in its natural environment.

I am a member of Queensland Kennel Council, one of the state’s oldest All Breeds dog clubs, being Treasurer from 2005-2015. I am also an active member of Ipswich Kennel Club and on the organizing committee for the annual Dogs Queensland Open Show Best of Winners event.

I entered the judges training program in 2010 and was accredited in my first group - Utility - in 2014. I am now accredited to judge 4 groups at Championship level and am various stages of training in the remaining 3 groups. I have judged interstate and also in New Zealand.

I do have a strong affinity with and interest in Tibetan and Asian breeds, as well as the mastiff, pastoral and mountain breeds.
