We are a small Dogsnz (NZKC) registered kennel based in the town of Murchison, situated at the top of the South Island. We have been devoted to this loyal affectionate breed for many years and could not imagine a life without them, hence Matakitaki whippets was established. Our breeding aims to enhance genetic diversity and raise social, healthy, true to type whippets.

We occasionally have puppies available. Our puppies are raised in the home and on our lifestyle block amongst other animals including sheep, chickens, and of course our other dogs. Puppies will have been regularly wormed and had first vaccination and vet checks before going to their new homes. Successful applicants for puppies will receive NZKC Pedigree papers, a Royal Canin puppy pack, and ongoing support.

Whippets are medium-sized, relatively low-maintenance dogs, known for their loyal nature and being wonderful family companions. Though they love to run, they don’t require excessive exercise and are just as happy lounging on the sofa. A home with a fenced yard is ideal to give them space to safely stretch their legs.
