Gold Country is located in Regional Victoria. Our dogs are raised in a tranquil country setting and are very much a part of our family, they are involved in everything we do such as bush walking, motor bike riding, swimming and road trips! Jedda has participated in Lure Coursing however not at a competitive level. Our breeding program pays particular attention to temperament, soundness and health. All puppies have health checks and are vaccinated (6 weeks) & microchipped prior to joining their new family. We spare no expense when raising our puppies, they are fed a well balance quality raw diet and are wormed regularly with various brands, such as Drontol, Advocate and NexGuard. Our puppies come with Pedigree Papers and new owners are supplied with individual puppy packs that include diet information, worming regime as well as some useful information and tips about owning a Whippet. Our advice & support is always available 24/7. All pictures that are used at Gold Country are of our own dogs that we own or have previously bred.

Our first whippet, a rescued boy named 'Max', came into our lives about 20 years ago. Our lovely boy stole our hearts, played endlessly with our young children and managed to rid our small farm of rabbits for good measure. We have had an affinity with whippets ever since. We then moved into the pedigree dog world with the purchase of Calahorra Zerlina - 'Lola'. Lola had her first litter in 2018, giving us the beautiful Deevaux Pam Beesly - 'Beesly' who has grown into a stunning young girl. Beesly had her first litter in 2020, giving us our third wonderful girl, Deevaux Violet Bucket “Molly”. Whippets have been a wonderful addition to our family, and a great example of the joy that they bring to a home: small enough to cuddle up on your lap, big enough to rough house with the kids, gentle as a lamb, and fast enough to overtake seagulls at the beach. Our whippets live with us in our home, indoors and out, thrive on their Raw Meaty Bones (RMB) diet, and are wonderfully healthy dogs with loving and gentle dispositions. We aim to breed occasionally to produce sound, English style whippets with gentle personalities, excellent confirmation, and a keen eye for the chase - just what these beautiful dogs were originally developed for.

Our small kennel is committed to breeding for quality not quantity. Having bred working labradors and flat coated retrievers over many years, our focus now includes showing and breeding our much loved whippets. Our whippets are a blend of English, Australian and American bloodlines and we have enjoyed some wonderful success with them, under both All Breeds and Specialty judges. Whippets joined our Border Collie family 15 years ago. Since then, they have taken over the Khayoz house!! Thanks to some experienced breeders for sharing their breeding with us, we have been fortunate to breed some lovely Whippets ourselves. We have had much success in the showring but have also bred some lovely Whippets who are now enjoying the best life in their homes. We have a gorgeous, sweetheart of a boy available from our current litter of 7. Hendrix is such a sweet gentle boy who is 12 weeks old and able to go to his new home now. All of our puppies are reared in the house (they are born in our lounge room) and stay there until 8 weeks of age. They grow up meeting everyone and hearing all the noises of a normal household, such as vacuums, TV's, radio's ect... They learn how to socialize properly with our older dogs, and are well socialised with people of all ages. Before our puppies go to their new homes we begin their teachings on a lead, we start house training, crate training and car riding. When they are ready to go to their new homes they will leave with a bag of food (if picked up from us), a booklet of information for the new owners, a blanket, some toys, treats, their own lead and collar set.
