Breeding Harsh Coats, Great Heads and fantastic temperaments from Imported and Home lines.
Here at Heisspur since 2005 our main focus has been Miniature Schnauzers.
In 2015 our big old mixed breed rescue boy became a bit deaf, blind & arthritic so we decided to add a Giant Schnauzer to our clan welcoming the beautiful "Kiki". Mentored by old Ringo she is the perfect goofball guard dog. She is a proven show dog quickly becoming an Australian Champion also winning Bitch Challenge at 2017 Sydney Royal. She's also a talented sniffer reaching her Tracking Dog Title with a hat-trick. She has also done some herding and has been a very clever watchdog and guardian of our home and 30 acre property.
Owning (or being owned by) any giant breed requires dedication and training. Giant Schnauzers are a very intelligent, friendly happy-go-lucky breed. Here in Australia they are in the Utility Group (Working Dog group in the USA). They were bred over many generations for a purpose, to guard and this is their natural instinct, and in their mind will be their purpose in any environment. They require dedicated training and daily exercise to keep their mind and body active. Also being a double coated breed they require regular grooming.
If you are thinking of adding a Giant to your family, it is advised that you do more than just research online.
Please phone breeders, go to shows, meet the dogs and spend time with them.
They will become a Giant part of your family and you will be their whole world. We owe it to any dog to know what is required to give them a happy whole life
I first started showing in 1965 with a miniature schnauzer. My first schnauzer adopted me in 1985 and then came the giant in 1994 since then we have bred 5 Grand Champion Schnauzers the first Male
& Female in the breed. Our bloodlines have started some of the top winning kennels in Australa and have produced 94 titled dogs that we know of many which are BIS BIG and Specialty winners We only breed when requiring new dogs for show or obedience over the years our dogs have been used in child handlers
Munchener has been involved with Pepper & Salt Giant Schnauzers since 1989. Schnauzers of all sizes have been a part of our family since the 1960s. The Pepper & Salt Giant Schnauzer is a rare breed with only 1 in 15 Giant Schnauzers being Pepper & Salt in colour. We are working closely with dedicated breeders overseas and through our breeding programme and by selectively importing hope to further develop and promote the breed in Australia. We have imported from Germany, Sweden, UK and USA. Our latest import is Hungarian Junior Champion Australian Grand Champion Silver Senator Kaoma Night ( Prima) from Hungary. All our dogs are health tested.
Our next litter is planned for September 2022 sired by Int Ch Ger Ch Prinz vom Kleinen Büffel BH AD FH1 FH2 IGP3 (imp Gmy, frozen semen) out of Ch Munchener Silverschatz von Mondo. All puppies will be black, but carrying the pepper & salt gene.
Only genuine enquires for potential show dogs now being taken.
We are a small breeder who are focused on quality and temperament. We are lucky to have fantastic mentors that have helped us into the breeds and who we work closely with.
Although we are fairly new to our breeds we have access to some fantastic pedigrees, incorporating both imported and top local lines, from proven stock that are true to breed standard.
We are striving to produce quality happy dogs that are professionals in the show ring but first and foremost loved family pets.
