We have been owned by Rhodesian Ridgebacks since purchasing our first in 1998 when I fell in love with the breed whilst working in South Africa. It wasn’t long before we had another join us and over the years, we have raised many more. Raised in our busy family home with children along with chickens and other animals on our semi-rural bushland property, our Rhodesian Ridgebacks are first and foremost important members of our family. They enjoy being with us in and around our home and accompanying us on various outings. We are committed to our breed and believe temperament to be of utmost importance. Our dogs are x-rayed for hip & elbow dysplasia. They are health tested for DM and epilepsy and a full DNA profile completed.

Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 4 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills. Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only. Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential! Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;) We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and Dogs West. KiyaMiya RR is situated on 20 beautiful acres in the South west town of Boyanup WA. We have had this wonderful intelligent breed for the last 13 years and breed infrequently. Our dogs live in our house and have been raised with our 3 kids and an array of farm animals including chooks, horses, sheep, pigs and cows. They also have to share the house with a cat but don't like to talk about that!! Our dogs are well socialized, have wonderful temperaments and are true to the breed. We hip and elbow score and our dogs have tested clear for DM and JME. Our beautiful boy Cooper (Seablueridge Babylon) recently joined the pack and the girls all adore him. The couple of years has seen KiyaMiya enter the world of showing with Cooper and our young girl Kiya (Marindy The One and Only). Cooper came to us with a wealth of showing experience which he is passing on to his novice handler! Kiya is a young feisty girl, nearly 3 years old. Having made a decision as to which of my gorgeous boys I am going to go on with from my last (after 40 years) Ridgeback litter, I am making Doc (Isilwane I Am The Future) available for sale. He is a 12 month old very handsome Liver nose boy, from fully tested parents. He has been rotating between my place (semi rural) and a good friend's (suburban surrounds), he is lead trained (slip collar and lead - no harnesses), crate trained, house trained, socialised with lots of other breeds including his Staffy girlfriend Millie, whippets, German Shepherds. He has also been shown with success (happy to consider someone who'd like to bond with him and take him out again - he doesn't like to be rushed). He is very well behaved in the house and was easily taught the boundary of the kitchen when goes on his visits, knows what "on your bed" means and loves bounding onto the bed in the morning for a smooch. Good with kids. Hasn't been around cats. He would do really really well with a companion but also fine if on his own with great humans in his life. This is not a rescue/rehouse situation. He is for sale and we have put a great deal of time and effort into making sure he has the best training (as has his brother) ready for when I made this decision. He is up to date on worming and vaccinations. Happy to do the move to a new home over time with visits and sleepovers to acclimatise him to a new home & family. Reluctantly, I am looking for a new forever home for my gorgeous Zuri (Australian Ch Rijstone Wyndrunhrs Rubys Gift (AI)) She is 6 years old, fit, trim and very healthy, has recently had a litter of pups and been desexed. She has a big outgoing cheeky personality. She is used to being with other ridgebacks and has lived inside and outside but now prefers to be inside and being amongst daily family life. She will either need the company of another ridgeback or people who are mainly home. She is very affectionate and craves attention. She is crate and toilet trained. She loves going for walks.
