At Hamalek we are breeders of Alaskan Malamutes and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. All our dogs live in a family enviroment and enjoy spending time with us camping, bush walking, showing and sled dog racing.

Our long affinity with, and extensive research of, Rhodesian Ridgebacks led to our foundation girl in 2011. Koko was the beginning of a wonderful journey and our pack of 4 now live with us on our bush acreage in the Perth Hills. Phakama Ridgebacks are a select small kennel and breed infrequently, to maintain and improve our lines only, and all puppies are raw fed and raised with a puppy culture program. Puppies live in the house and have monitored free range of our property as they grow. They are taught to "speak dog" by the rest of the pack and flourish easily. All puppies go to approved homes only. Health testing is a priority and all our dogs are AVA hip/elbow scored, heart screened by a cardiologist, and have a full Orivet DNA Breed Profile completed. We believe sound temperaments are essential! Every dog we have bred and kept has participated in Conformation Showing and we are proud to have bred 2 Australian Champions. Not all dogs like the show ring, so we also participate in Lure Coursing and two of our pack gained their JC titles in this discipline. All have completed a Masters in Owning their Human ;) We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of WA and Dogs West. We are proud to have the friendship, and mentorship, of some amazing breeders, around Australia and the globe, as we continue the journey of preserving our beloved breed. Amuri Rhodesian Ridgebacks is situated in the village of Murchison, near the top of the South Island, NZ. Living on a lifestyle block, our dogs enjoy sharing the land with our cattle, sheep & horses. The girls are part of our family, & are involved in almost everything we do. From helping with the orphan lambs/calves, cafés/shopping, beach runs, to strutting their stuff in the show ring. My passion for this breed started over 20 years ago, after having a bitch & her son. They had never left my heart, so the hunt for another RR blessed us with THREE girls from Koruridge. We are so very proud to own them. My husband is now hooked, & so Amuri Rhodesian Ridgebacks was born! Our girls have tested clear for Degenerative Myelopathy, Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, & do not carry the Dilute/Blue coat colour gene. All have excellent Hip/Elbow scoring, and great natures. Going forward, any Dogs chosen for our Bitches will have been tested for the above. This breed is super versatile, so should have great natures & be sound for Lure Coursing, Agility, Obedience, Show Ring & most importantly, amazing companions! Our aim is to produce happy, healthy & correct examples of this wonderful breed. Pups will have first Vaccination/vet check, & have been wormed fortnightly. Successful applicants for our pups will receive NZKC Pedigree papers (conditions may apply), a sample of food, his/her blanket, puppy info pack, and on going support. Having made a decision as to which of my gorgeous boys I am going to go on with from my last (after 40 years) Ridgeback litter, I am making Doc (Isilwane I Am The Future) available for sale. He is a 12 month old very handsome Liver nose boy, from fully tested parents. He has been rotating between my place (semi rural) and a good friend's (suburban surrounds), he is lead trained (slip collar and lead - no harnesses), crate trained, house trained, socialised with lots of other breeds including his Staffy girlfriend Millie, whippets, German Shepherds. Travels very well in the car. He is very well behaved in the house and was easily taught the boundary of the kitchen when goes on his visits, knows what "on your bed" means and loves bounding onto the bed in the morning for a smooch. Good with kids. Hasn't been around cats. He would do really really well with a companion but also fine if on his own with great humans in his life. This is not a rescue/rehouse situation. He is for sale and we have put a great deal of time and effort into making sure he has the best training (as has his brother) ready for when I made this decision. He is up to date on worming and vaccinations. Happy to do the move to a new home over time with visits and sleepovers to acclimatise him to a new home & family.
