The Watersedge family has been involved in Show dogs for decades. The first litter under the Watersedge prefix was born in 1996. Our first Finnish Lapphund, Grand Ch. Theldaroy Wild Not Me (Laani) became part of the Watersedge family in February 2002. Watersedge is still able to claim that we are showcasing Australia's youngest Runner-Up To Best in Show at All Breeds level. Laani is the first female in Australia to be awarded the title of Grand Champion, which she maintained for years. Our first Finnish Lapphund litter was born from our first import in 2005. Ch. Fidelis Haltiatar (imp FIN) to FIN/LTU Ch. Fidelis Alias Amicus. Her brood of 6 have gone on to make their mark on the Finnish Lapphund breed in Australia. Watersedge has produced several litters since then. We don't breed that often and when we do it is for a specific purpose. We have been blessed with the first cream puppies to be born in Australasia and also some with more unusual colours and markings. We strive to breed typey, sound, healthy puppies and as such all of our dogs are hip & elbow x-rayed & scored, prcd-PRA tested clear & frequently undergo ACES eye tests. Our puppies are all placed in homes with DNA confirmation of parentage & prcd-PRA clear status. Health results for the parents are readily available to puppy purchasers. We spend a lot of time researching pedigrees and health of dogs, importing semen which keeps our lines strong and healthy and the gene pool diverse. We breed lappies fit for the purpose intended. We do not breed often, we breed with prcd-PRA clear dogs and we are about quality and not quantity. We carry out extensive health testing prior to breeding. Our puppies and dogs are raised and live in our home. We place our puppies where they will be loved in show, sports or companion homes. We are also looking for like minded people who are willing to be part of our journey and offer preservation homes(to contribute to the future of the breed). We offer lifetime support. I have three beautiful boys from the mating of LINDERRY MOLLY ODEA X VICTORYBEE COPPER HEAD ROAD Both parents are very strong field bred dogs with Molly being fifty percent imported bloodlines from Europe and UK, and Cooper having outstanding breeding including Orlando, Gamemaster, Kamphogdas and Quailbanders. These puppies are outstanding examples of field breeding, bringing wonderful conformation and temperament together with intelligence and trainability and a desire to please. Irish Setters are wonderful family pets who love to get out into the fresh air for exercise and games and later cuddles on the couch. They are dogs with it all, personality plus, a keen sense of fun, loyalty and beauty and elegance, with of course the glorious red coat for which they are noted. A beautiful redhead always stands out in a crowd. The puppies were born on 2nd April 2024 and have had their third vaccination, microchipped, wormed regularly, vet checked and are on Limited Register Pedigree. Our puppies are brought up in the house and are familiar with all normal household activities and sounds. They are well socialised and love adults and children alike. They are also familiar with our cat and hens and have been introduced to our horses.
