A boutique kennel on a farm on the Mornington Peninsula.
A working farm taking on Maremmas after so many lamb losses to foxes, which has proven very successful.
So fascinated with this breed, we took a research trip to Italy to obtain as much knowledge as possible.
We have now joined forces with DellBianco in NSW and many breeders in Italy.
We now have many imported bitches and dogs here between DellBianco and Cloverdowns hopefully to expand the genetic puddle we have here. Inspection of our dogs will not disappoint.
We now have a nice balance of Maremmas and Australian Cattle Dogs here in Pearcedale, visitors welcome by appointment. Puppies available,

We are a pedigree breeder of Maremma Sheepdogs on a farm (Jumble Farm), near Canberra/Cooma. We strive to produce healthy, friendly, well socialised and genetically sound companion/guardian dogs. Our farm runs a variety of livestock (pigs, cattle, sheep and goats) and poultry (chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, turkeys and peacocks). We have experience with livestock guarding dogs (LGDs), companion dogs and rescue dogs. Our dogs have great pedigrees with International lineage, they are beautiful to look at, great livestock guardians, loyal companions, and have friendly temperaments.
ABOUT THE BREED: Looks can be deceiving! Maremma Sheepdogs are so much more than their regal stance, fluffy white fur and good looks! They are smart and independent thinkers, who naturally protect those they are bonded too (livestock, poultry and people). They will defend and protect whom they are bonded with. They make their presence known to any potential threat by targeted barking (they have a loud deep bark). They will defend if necessary. They don’t demand a lot of attention, but do enjoy affection when it suits them!
You'll fall in love and stay in love with this independent majestic breed. We don't breed dogs, we breed Maremma's!
* Please refer to our web page to learn more about our unique training and early socialisation programs (now incorporating the principles of 'Puppy Culture' - a structured program from birth, that sets up pups/dogs behaviorally and neurologically for life) *
Lurgenglare Maremmas have been registered with Dogs Victoria since 1986 when our first Maremma Sheepdog successfully protected our Angora goats and sheep from foxes. Bianca's first litter was registered in 1988.
We have been promoting Maremmas in the Show Ring & at Agricultural Shows and have been improving the Australian Maremma Sheepdog population by importing six Maremmas from Italy, Sweden and England to provide a good foundation of unrelated bloodlines for breeding sound, well tempered & true to type Maremma Sheepdogs for livestock guarding, family companions and show.
Our customers continue to value their Maremmas to protect their families and various livestock species: chickens, ducks, geese, ostriches, sheep, goats, deer, cattle, alpacas and the latest challenges, the Eastern Barred Bandicoots at the Victorian Zoos and the Little Penguins on Middle Island south of Warrnambool in Victoria.

Nino is 18 months old and has blossomed into a terrific dog. He is going well with chickens, goats, sheep, cows and horses. Nino loves his humans and is suited to a home where he can be part of the family, but have a job to do protecting your poultry or stock. He is still young and will require an owner committed to continue guiding and supervising him, especially while he is bonding to you, your animals and property. Maremma are not solitary dogs and flouish in a pack so he needs a home preferably with another Maremma or Livestock Guardian dog. Excellent fencing is required and you need to be willing to be mentored to ensure a successful rehoming. Nino is sterilised, vaccinated and wormed. Nino is sound, however x-rays show mild subluxation of left hip.
Adoption fee is $850
West Coast Maremma Rescue is seeking expressions of interest for Cooper.
Cooper is a two year old male. He is a lovely boy who is showing strong guardian traits. Cooper is good with our stock and chickens and has been trustworthy with ewes and lambs and is good with children. He has energy to burn and has grown into a confident, independent dog. He is good with other dogs, but can be dominant. He would suit a working home where he is also a loved member of the family and working in a partnership with his "Shepherd". Cooper is a fence climber so will need fences 1500mm high or rural farm fencing with a hot wire. Cooper is sterilised, vaccinated and wormed.
