We have been loved and owned by Leonbergers since 2002. Over the years we have imported dogs from Sweden, Australia and the UK and have had the pleasure of making up numerous NZ Champions. Schiehallion is a small kennel concentrating on producing dogs with excellent temperaments and conformation. We breed to continue our excellent lines and to show so we have limited litters with some matings being a long time in the planning! Our puppies are registered with the NZ Kennel Club and come with a lifetime of support. All our matings are carefully considered and our dogs must pass strict health tests prior to a mating being considered. Since `2011 we have also owned and shown Weimaraners. Due to the high demand for Leonbergers most people are on a waiting list and it is advisable to register your interest so your chosen breeder can keep in contact with you.

Our love affair with Leos began almost 20 years ago. Our first Leo, Sabra, was from the 1st litter to NZ in 1995. We remained pet free for a few years but when we purchased this land 12 years ago it was a good time to start our doggie family again. And so began our collection of lions. We love our dogs , they are a big part of our family. Big is the operative word here. Big in every which way. Big feet, big tongues, big coats,big appetites and big hearts. Our personal search for new genetics to secure the future of Leonbergers in NZ has been fruitful with 3 young imported dogs added to our collection in the past year. Miss Indie has been socialised with many animals from ponies and goats to cats and birds. Her main love is people, from as young as 3mths old and is always ready for cuddles or a belly scratch. She is first and most importantly a member of our family, and resident couch hog. In March 2019 Indie became the youngest Leonberger in Australia to gain their AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP title! A Berglöwe puppy isn't just a dog, they are a family member, and we will only place our babies in the best, preferably indoor, homes. Our babies are all raised in our home around the family. We have puppies from Lulu and Riggs 8 in total 5 girls and 3 boys all black and white, pups are healthy and lulu is a wonderful mum. Spring Litter Eylesview are very excited to announce that on 14 October, Pud (Eylesview Sugar Plum Puddin HT) blessed us with four beautiful puppies. The sire of the litter is Calvin, Ch. Trucharm Designer Genes. Orivet DNA results and Hip & Elbow scores are available for both Pud and Calvin. Two of these beautiful girls have found their families, and two are still looking. The pups make daily appearances on the Eylesview Facebook page, where their progress can be seen through photos and videos. Puppies are raised in the Eylesview family home with the love and enrichment that all our dogs receive. They go to their new homes with a puppy pack that includes detailed information on their first eight weeks, family history including health testing of previous generations, and suggestions and contacts for diet, training and sporting / social opportunities. We are excited to announce that we welcomed our newest additions on the 21st Nov and are pleased to say all are doing well! This is the first (long awaited) litter for both mum and dad who are both gentle, social, and loving family dogs. We expect the same in these babies. All puppies are black & white, and are being raised in my home with plenty of involvement in family life, and will be fed on a premium diet of Royal Canin and a variety fresh food. We have puppies available and ready to go home towards late January, with a bag full of goodies and food to get you started. Sassy (Etherial Wandanna Sassy) and Risk (Steadfast Risk it For Th Biskit) welcomed 8 beautiful healthy puppies in September. Two puppies remain waiting for their forever homes and will be available from the 2nd November.These puppies have been reared in my home and are loving, happy, confident and adventurous. So much love from my grandchildren ensure they want lots of cuddles and play. One girls and one boy. Puppies were vet checked at 48 hours, and were vet checked again , microchipped and had first vaccination at 6 weeks. Wormed every 2 weeks. To ensure optimum health and growth, puppies have been fed a balanced and nutritious diet. Both parents have beautiful temperaments and have genetic and x-ray results available. Puppies come with Faux grass pee pads, litter blanket, food samples with feeding information sheets. I'm always available for advice or help at any time in the future if you have any questions. Sassy is a medium coat working lines and is working towards her Level 4 Obedience Certificate. Risk is a beautiful show dog. The male puppy Jagger has beautiful, typical Border Collie markings with lots of white. The biggest puppy in the litter, he certainly is a stand out puppy. Our puppies are $3500 pedigree registered with papers on the limited register. They will come with a huge puppy pack valued at over $400. They will be vaccinated microchipped, wormed and health checked. Their parents are dna tested and clear. So they won’t be affected by any of the hereditary diseases. Our dogs are raised on 36 acres as part of the family. We have insulted night kennels for their safety in the evenings and during the day they live on the acres and with us. So have free access to enjoy life all day. We will lock them away on some days for a couple hours for their safety if we know we are having a busy day with visitors or parties and if they’re in heat. A couple of the dogs will stay inside at night but as a pack of 9 dogs it’s just too many for all of them to stay inside and have access to outside in the evenings. Our puppies are raised inside our home from birth to around 3 weeks old and then moved to our under cover verandah and large insulted whelping kennels. Once they’re 4-5 weeks of age during the nice weather days they’ll be set up in the grass playpen and back in the large kennels at night. 5-6 weeks we start taking them for small drives in the car and get them used to noises and movement. 6-7 weeks we will do a bigger play day/ open day with them. And 7-8 weeks we start more one on one crate training them for 10-20 mins at a night and we also try to more intensive toilet training with them. We have large folder with all information.
