Lakelands are busy little creatures with an inquisitive mind.
You need to have a fully fenced yard yard is a must as they are adventure seekers who crave companionship especially human.
There are no known genetic health conditions in the breed , a few minor issues such as a incorrect tail set ( carried up over their back instead of straight) and misaligned teeth ( correct bite is a scissor) pop up occasionally which only affect the dogs show ability not their health.
If they get bored they will seek and destroy and bad habits are quick to form and hard to break.
Most lakelands do not get on with cats or small furry critters as they have been bred as a prey dog to hunt vermin, therefore they will see these as their natural job. Although Digby Dog on Instagram ( one of my pups) lives very happily with 20 year old Moses the cat.
They are also free thinkers, and problem solvers this also comes from the breeding as they had to hunt independently.

Pups come with a beginner crate, puppy pack, registered with the Kennel club and vet check and jabs. They normally leave to their forever home at 10-12 weeks.

There are over 90 members including some owners who having shared a the long life with their much loved lakland have returned to us for a new family member. We celebrate their love for this breed.

We originated in English Setters in 1975 and received many accolades including #1 Show dog Albreeds 4 times with 3 different dogs, winning more Australian English Setter Specialties, Allbreed Best in Shows and Royal show Challenges that any other in the breed in Australian history.

We now have Lakeland Terriers and no longer breed English Setters; we have imported Lakeland’s from top UK and European bloodlines. Our Lakeland’s are well performed in the show ring and have taken out prestigious awards such as Best Terrier in Group at the Melbourne Royal Show and Best in Show awards at all breed shows. We have been awarded Top Lakeland in Australia in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

We are boutique breeders and occasionally breed for ourselves and may sometimes have puppies available should we do so.

Icepaws kennels was established in 1997 and prides themselves on there on going assistance provided to families that open there homes up to my pups.

All Icepaws babies are brought up in a family environment in my home. They have a wonderful play room and are well socialized with friends and the rest of the pack at Icepaws.

Vet checked, microchipped, DNA to prove parentage, vaccinated once at 6 weeks with a C3. Pups are wormed every 2 weeks before leaving for their new home.

Puppy’s brough as Pet will be placed on limited register, (meaning not to be bred or shown). Pedigree papers will be forwarded on when processed by Dogs QLD.

All pups come with an Icepaws Puppy Buyer Guide Book, this booklet has everything you need to know about your pup and so much more (over 30 pages long, and sent once deposit is paid) a
Royal Canin pack as well as a small travel blanket a grooming comb and collar. All babies are crate trained, toilet trained and are well developed settled pups in any environment at Icepaws.

Parents are Excellent examples of the breed. The Sire’s dad is NO.1 Alaskan Malamute in Australia.

Health Tested A grade hips and 0 elbows. DNA clear of genetic faults and thyroid clear.

Their bloodlines are world known in Alaskan Malamutes to produce stunning examples of the breed
