Maggie has amazed us with how true, to the original breed temperament and type she is. Maggie has a colourful and well balance personality and is truly one of the family. During my time studying animal behaviour, Maggie was used for many conditioning video's and class demonstrations, she not only helped me achieve top marks but she has proved her self to be worthy as a therapy dog.

My foundation bitch, Fiorella, has produced some beautiful pups over the years, the first to be raised on the Surf Coast of Victoria. All my girls have excellent hips scores and free of any genetic anomalies of the breed. Wispan is a small but dedicated kennel on the Sunshine Coast of Qld. I strive for excellence in my breeding by using sound stock of excellent temperament and type. I have been involved with this breed since 2009 and I am very fortunate that my foundation bitch came from Greydove Kennels and my dog from Kebro Kennels, both from imported lines. All my dogs are hip and elbow scored prior to breeding and litters are carefully planned. My dogs are companions first and foremost and showing is our hobby. The Lagotto Romagnolo is a small/medium curly coated gun dog originating from Italy. The breed can be traced back several hundred years and is the foundation dog to all water dogs such as Poodles, Portuguese Water Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers to name but a few. The breed is not well known in NZ and is often mistaken as a spoodle (gasp). Our dogs are raised on a beautiful life style block in the Wairarapa. We adhere to Dogs New Zealand Breeders Code of Conduct. We have health tests performed on our breeding stock as recommended by the New Zealand Lagotto Romagnolo Club. We are delighted to announce the anticipated arrival of Lagotto puppies from ‘Sara’ and 'Teddy'. These puppies will be available to go to their new homes late November 2024. Our lagottos have been screened for the known and genetically testable disorders evident in the Lagotto. Screening breeding animals prior to breeding will ensure these preventable disorders do not affect your puppy from Rustufarion. Further health checks of our breeding dogs includes screening for Hip Dysplasia. We do everything possible to produce puppies with sound temperaments and confirmation and this has been factored into the selection of a suitable sire for these puppies.
