Kosmos sighthounds was created with my very first litter of whippets back in 1996. After that one and only litter I decided to 'downsize' and have since been totally captivated by Italian Greyhounds.
These amusing, happy little characters all live in the house as members of my family; many sleep in my bed - no kennels here. Living on acreage, they can behave like the true miniature sighthounds they are, enjoying the normal sighthound favourite pastimes of running fast, hunting and cuddling.
They voluntarily keep themselves extremely fit and healthy and are much less fragile than they appear!

I have since spread my addiction for these little dogs throughout my family. In 2015 my daughter in law Ash started out with Kosmos by assisting with vetting puppy homes, and has since become a fully fledged partner in the Kosmos Prefix. Ash actively campaigns the Kosmos show team in SA, and has had great successes both in and out of the ring. Including making up our first Grand Ch and our first Neut Grand Ch.

The emphasis of our infrequent breeding program is to breed healthy dogs with sound temperaments, who match the breed standard as closely as possible. It is essential that my puppies go to only the best, loving forever homes. I am happy to discuss my breeds and the enjoyment of sharing my life with them. Meligjoy Italian Greyhounds is a shared Prefix between Joyce McKenna and myself and we are Registered breeders with ANKC and we are based in Queensland.

We have 40 plus years of combined experience in Breeding and showing different breeds between us but we have fallen in love with this breed and we decided to breed Italian Greyhounds for Pets and for showing.

We have worked along with some wonderful Italian Greyhound breeders that have helped us along the way with there beautiful lines and we are ever so grateful for there help to get us started.

Our Italian Greyhounds live inside and outside and share our beds and have the run of our house they are a very big part of our family.

Our Iggys are in Perfect Health before they are bred with to ensure they are ready for motherhood and the puppies are Whelped in our lounge room and live inside with us until they are old enough to Venture outside to be introduced to other animals and different
smells so they are well socialised before they
leave to there new homes.
