Home of the dual purpose Hunt Point and Retrieve Gun Dog. Our German stock is based on solid foundations and can be traced directly back to English lines; Midlander, Inchmarlo and Keldy origins. The Midlander bloodline has remained constant since the 1950's, producing successes both in the show ring and the field. We are a small kennel producing the occasional litter. We ensure that each stud dog chosen suits our line and has the proven qualities of a dual purpose German Shorthaired Pointer. Our aim is to produce puppies and dogs that are a pleasure to live with, have the attributes to make them the perfect shooting companion in tandem with conformation to accord with the breed standard.

We have been involved with working German Shorthaired Pointers since the late 1970's. We are also an DogsNZ Acredited breeder. Jagdhunde Kennels prides itself on its fully health tested GSPs with great outgoing temperaments and strong working ability. From early NZ, Australian & German lines. We have a bred number of dogs who work for the Department Of Conservation including the well known "Neo & Beau The Whio Dogs". We have older puppies atm and occasionally older started working dogs available. We also have fully health tested stud dogs and a range of frozen semen available to aproved and health tested bitches. Est. 2001. My dogs are family first and foremost but we are often found at Conformation shows, Rally O competitions or Scent work trials around the South Island in the weekends. All breeding's are thoroughly researched and I only breed when I want to keep something for myself. Health and temperament of puppies produced is paramount when planning a litter. Poseidon is searching for a new home through no fault of his own. At just one year old, Po is a friendly male who is well-socialized but could benefit from some training in obedience and recall. He gets along well with cats, although he may try to chase them until corrected. Po enjoys the company of other dogs and, being still quite young, would thrive with a playmate. However, he would also be perfectly happy in a single-pet household where he can receive all the love and attention. Previously a member of our show team, Po has had some wonderful achievements in the ring. However, he no longer finds the same joy in it as he did when he was younger, and we want him to be in a home where he feels truly happy. Hope is a 1 year old brown & white female looking for a loving forever home. She was part of our show team as a youngster, however, we have decided to keep her sister. She is happy, outgoing, friendly and would suit a home with another dog (preferably a desexed male) for company and would best suit a property rather than a backyard.
