We are home to nine gorgeous lappies here and abroad, some of whom we have trained within various disciplines including conformation showing, obedience, tracking, herding, flyball and agility (however their favourite activity tends to be having a cuddle on our bed). Our dogs are shared between two homes, in Sydney and Brisbane, plus a number in co-ownership. We will be selectively breeding and aiming to produce structurally and temperamentally sound, healthy, typey and fit-for-purpose Finnish Lapphunds. It wasn’t until 2009, after countless hours of research for a suitable working breed, and as if by chance, that I stumbled on a picture of a Finnish Lapphund. I began asking around and sent enquires and finally in 2011 I was blessed with my first Lappie Heidi. I’ve never looked back and since then, have added two more to my clan Lappies have had such an amazing impact on my life and I hope to bring this same joy and love to many others in the future. We don’t breed often and aim to keep our numbers at home small so each dog can have the love and attention they deserve. We are always looking for loving homes to help us showcase this amazing breed by offering a welcoming family and for some, by allowing their dog to contribute to the future of Ehana. Our dogs successfully compete in Conformation Showing as well as a variety of performance sports. We have been involved in the Finnish Lapphund breed for around 20 years, and both our own dogs as well as those we have bred are active in the show ring and a variety of performance sports such as herding, obedience, rally, agility, tracking and flyball. Located north of Melbourne, we have been breeding and showing lappies since 2008. We have bred multiple Best in Show champions, dog sports and trial champions, as well as loved family pets. We keep our kennel small deliberately in order to give each of our dogs the individual attention they deserve, as they are first and foremost members of our family. In addition to our home bred Lappies, we are also very pleased to have been able to import a number of new lines into Australia, which we are now drawing upon in order to improve breed diversity, health and type. We work closely with breeders here and overseas in ensuring Lappies have a great future in Australia. We do not breed often, but when we do our focus is on temperament, type and health. We do all necessary breed testing, including PRA and Pompes genetic screening, ACES eye testing, hip and elbow grading and our Lappies are health checked regularly and prior to any breeding. Our puppies are raised in a typical family environment where they are accustomed to normal family life and early socialisation is a priority. We also provide dedicated Breeder support to the owners of our puppies for the life of their Lappie.
