Zuleika is a boutique Finnish Lapphund kennel situated in Northern Tasmania. As our only breed, our dogs live in our home as part of our family, sleep on our beds, and enjoy two acres of rural land to frolick on. We are home to Tasmania's show history-making Finnish Lapphunds, Benni & Liina, and our matriarch Fleur. Active in the FL community, we are members of the Finnish Lapphund Club of Victoria, Lappalaiskoirat ry (Finland), and Southern Finnish Lapphund Society (UK). We breed selectively, producing puppies that are sound, healthy, and happy. Our puppies are born and raised in the home, where they welcome visitors, become accustomed to household noises and enjoy lots of cuddles. We use Puppy Culture protocols to ensure they are given the best possible start to life and join their new families as well adjusted young dogs. We welcome enquiries regarding puppies for companionship, show and sports. As a boutique kennel, we also rely on families who a willing to allow their Zuleika baby to be a part of our breeding program. All puppies come DNA tested for relevant hereditary diseases. Finnish Lapphunds first caught our eye in 2011. They are a beautiful intelligent breed that will win over your heart! We offer our dogs a diverse and varied lifestyle as a true member of our family. They experience life be it camping, bushwalking, 4WDriving and coming to work with us which leads to being great companions and contributes greatly to their well being. We also participate in obedience and confirmation showing. Our philosophy is to breed with the healthiest stock we can. We spend a lot of time researching pedigrees and health of dogs, importing semen which keeps our lines strong and healthy and the gene pool diverse. We breed lappies fit for the purpose intended. We do not breed often, we breed with prcd-PRA clear dogs and we are about quality and not quantity. We carry out extensive health testing prior to breeding. Our puppies and dogs are raised and live in our home. We place our puppies where they will be loved in show, sports or companion homes. We are also looking for like minded people who are willing to be part of our journey and offer preservation homes(to contribute to the future of the breed). We offer lifetime support. It wasn’t until 2009, after countless hours of research for a suitable working breed, and as if by chance, that I stumbled on a picture of a Finnish Lapphund. I began asking around and sent enquires and finally in 2011 I was blessed with my first Lappie Heidi. I’ve never looked back and since then, have added two more to my clan Lappies have had such an amazing impact on my life and I hope to bring this same joy and love to many others in the future. We don’t breed often and aim to keep our numbers at home small so each dog can have the love and attention they deserve. We are always looking for loving homes to help us showcase this amazing breed by offering a welcoming family and for some, by allowing their dog to contribute to the future of Ehana. Our dogs successfully compete in Conformation Showing as well as a variety of performance sports. We welcome any enquires from potential families who would like to dip their toe in either of these worlds and are happy to mentor and support anyone wanting to give them a go. We are expecting some lovely sweet temperatments in this litter, with cream and possibly wolf sable puppies likely. The grand-dam of this litter is our lovely multi international champion, Miia, and the sire's lines go back to notable Finnish and Swedish champions. Most importantly, we are expecting lovely, moderate puppies with even temperaments, typical of our gorgeous breed. With almost 2 decades in our breed, lappies we have bred have been muliti best in show winners, gained dog sports and obedience titles, and most importantly are well loved family members. We are not commercial or 'intensive' breeders, and our litters are raised in our home as loved family members. Deerlane Finnish Lapphunds is expecting our “Critter Litter” of little Love-Bugs due February 2025. Parents-to-be are Ariana (Tundrai Bear To Bee Sweet JC) & Kailo (American Grand Ch Alnopa Ukonvasara IMP USA). Parents are health tested for breed relevant diseases (DNA, CHEDS Hip & Elbow scored, ACES eye cleared, cardiologist cleared). Colours expected are Wolf Sable & Brown Wolf Sable only. Price approx $4000. We are open to pet, sports & show/breeding homes. Ariana is an affectionate girl who excels in sports/herding. Kailo is a stunning dog imported from Norway (via the USA). He’s a big cuddle bug, has moderate drive & a “look at me” personality. Both are food driven & social with people/dogs/cats. Whilst Lapphunds may look like teddy-bears, it’s important to remember they’re a working breed. From this combination I expect friendly, cuddly puppies with a natural herding instinct, intelligence, moderate drive & good trainability. Here at Deerlane our dogs are first and foremost family. They are raised and live in my home (on my couch). Puppies aren’t available often as I only breed when I have the time & resources to give them the best possible start at life. Theldaroy is a foundation lapphund breeder in Australia. We have been breeding them since 2001 and at present have the rare litters. I have not had a litter for some years and usually only a couple per annum. We believe that quality is of paramount importance. I have done an insemination with Aarre to Moska. I am truly excited with this planned litter. I will be expecting black and tan pups. Due mid Feb to go to ne home around Easter.
