Having obtained my first Springer pet in 1985, I have successfully shown my team in New Zealand and Australia, breeding the occasional litter. All dogs have their eyes tested and hips scored before being bred from - but most important is of course the temperament. My lines are a mix of Australian, Sandanavian and English.
I have a comprehensive breed introduction pack, prepared and fine tuned over the 20 plus years I have been owned by Springers. This is available on application to my email address or fb page
Most of my current show team are listed on My FB page, I don't list all the minor wins my dogs do at breed and cc level. If you are interested in a pet, agility, obedience, working Springer - I have bred many that are successful in this arena. If you want a show Springer - this can be discussed; I only breed when I want something for myself, so all pups get five star treatment.
I am qualified in Canine Behaviour and Canine Husbandty from the respected Massey Veterinary University - New Zealand. Plus I have a recognised Australian certificate in Canine Behaviour.

We are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of Willow's puppies!

At Thornfield we aim to bring out the best in every dog we own. Our dogs compete successfully in retrieving, agility, tricks, obedience and endurance tests, from local events to National competitions. Our field-bred (working lines) English Springer Spaniel, Em (Wrangham Cathy Earnshaw RRD ADX JDM GD SD) has been our introduction to the breed and has been competitive in both retrieving and agility as well as proving herself in the field. We are enjoying her daughter, Ginny (Thornfield Empower AD JDX TKS) and granddaughters Luna (Thornfield Gin Bijou JDX GD TKS) and Delphi (Thornfield Tanqueray Gin) journeys as they follow in her footsteps. We are also the proud home of Australia's first and only ANKC Agility Champion Dalmatian, Ziggy (AG CH 600 Yarrowfell High Society CD ADM ADO JDM JDO2 GD SD ET).

Occasionally we have field-bred English Springer Spaniel puppies available that would suit hunting, retrieving, field trial, agility, obedience, tracking or active family homes. Above all our dogs are our well-loved companions.

We have available a couple of “started puppies”.
These pups have been ‘run on’ so that we can assess the breeding and what characteristics have been inherited from the parents. We are thrilled with the outcome of this mating and have decided to retain several pups for ourselves.
Unfortunately, we can’t keep them all, so we have a couple of dog pups available to the right homes.
They are currently 4 months old and have commenced their basic training, walking on the lead, sitting, staying, and most importantly coming when called.
Alongside the basic training they have been introduced to rabbits and birds, different terrain, and water.
All the pups are keenly working rabbit scent and finding the joy of using their noses. True working spaniels as one would expect from Glastonpark.

Due to a cancellation, we now have a twelve-week-old liver and white male English Springer Spaniel puppy available. The puppy is registered with Dogs Victoria on the limited register for a companion home.

This exceptional puppy has been wormed, microchipped, and has received two of his juvenile vaccinations. He was bred via artificial insemination using valuable frozen semen. His mother is the daughter of Australia’s top Springer for the last two years and is currently leading in 2024!

Thornfield are delighted to announce the availability of ONE male and ONE female 5 month old pure-bred and pedigreed working line (aka field-bred) English Springer Spaniels.

As a responsible ANKC (Dogs Victoria) registered breeder, we only breed occasionally and will not have puppies again for at least 2 years. Sire, Bentley (Wrangham Hit The Road Jack) and Dam, Willow (Thornfield Willow Tree Gin) have lovely temperaments and plenty of drive. Our puppies are best suited to sports, working or active family homes.
